Tuesday horse racing tips

Southwell

• 14.30: Vocito 13/8 (1pt)
• 15.00: Ceolwulf 10/3 (1pt)
• 17.00: Squeezebox 7/2 (1pt)

Vocito

Vocito hasn’t been seen over fences since April 2025, in a run that saw him place a distant fifth when 15/8 favourite.

He was facing a 7lb rise that day after a convincing Plumpton victory in November.

Since then he’s been a little bit poor over hurdles with only one win in 2025 from a few runs before going 18 lengths clear at Uttoxeter late last month.

He’s now 5lb lower than his last chase run and makes plenty of appeal with Sean Bowen back on board for in-form Olly Murphy.

He faces potential from Seaview Rock, who’s incredibly unexposed but was sold from Murphy’s yard to go to Charles & Adam Pogson’s, so Bowen will know this horse well.

Ceolwulf

Can’t see anything other than the favourite winning against these poor running Class 5 rivals.

He won last time out after recording two decent 2nd places and ought to continue his progress.

Squeezebox

The big favourite Captain Cool is understandably the favourite after two big wins over fences.

But reverting back to hurdles isn’t always the answer even off a lower chasing mark than he is now.

If anything he could be seen as 3lb higher than when last seen over hurdles, a discipline of which he’s not won in since October, his only win over hurdles in nine attempts.

Squeezebox however, is unexposed over hurdles still having made all in two out of three in 2025 and surely comes back from a break even stronger, potentially well-rated too.
