Transfer Notebook: Espirito Santo could follow Bowen out of West Ham, Newcastle’s fight to keep key star, where next for Lewandowski?

West Ham are set for a mass exodus if they go down – and manager Nuno Espirito Santo could be one of the first out of the door.

The Hammers are facing an uphill task to preserve their 14-year Premier League status with Tottenham effectively needing just one point to stay up at their expense.

Relegation would have disastrous financial implications after reporting pre-tax losses of more than £104million in their most recent accounts.

talkSPORT understands all of the Hammers’ top stars will have their wages slashed as a result of dropping into the Championship. 

England forward Jarrod Bowen, Manchester United and Arsenal target Mateus Fernandes, and Crysencio Summerville are the club’s most sellable assets, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jean-Clair Todibo will also push for moves.

Meanwhile, there is doubt over whether Espirito Santo will continue beyond the end of the season having failed to keep West Ham up.

Newcastle’s battle to keep Man United target

Newcastle United face an uphill fight to keep Lewis Hall.

As previously reported in this Notebook, Hall is expected to be named in Thomas Tuchel’s England World Cup squad on Friday after a stellar season at St James’ Park.

The tournament in North America will give the former Chelsea youngster the chance to enhance his growing reputation.

And sources have told talkSPORT that Hall, 21, is open to a move this summer.

Manchester United are among the clubs actively seeking a new left-back to ease the workload on Luke Shaw, and the Red Devils’ director of football Jason Wilcox is a big admirer of Hall.

With £70m-rated Anthony Gordon almost certain to leave and Sandro Tonali also pushing for an exit, Newcastle are likely to battle hard to keep Hall.

LaLiga side eye Championship promotion hero

Ipswich promotion-winning hero Dan Neil is a target for Spanish side Valencia.

Sunderland man Neil spent the second half of the season on loan at Portman Road and helped Kieran McKenna’s men clinch a return to the Premier League on the final day.

The 24-year-old will be available as a free agent when his contract at the Stadium of Light expires this summer.

Valencia boss Carlos Corberan rates Neil highly from his time managing in the Championship at West Brom.

Where next for Lewy?

Robert Lewandowski could be the latest superstar heading to play in Saudi Arabia.

Lewandowski is leaving Barcelona with his contract expiring after scoring 119 goals in 191 games.

Despite Rio Ferdinand suggesting a possible move from Man United for the Poland goalmachine, Lewandowski has interest from Saudi sides Al Qadsiah, Al Hilal and Al Ittihad.

The 37-year-old is also wanted by ambitious MLS side Chicago Fire, who tried and failed to land Kevin de Bruyne this time last year.
