Tracey Neville, sister of Gary and Phil, lands new football job
Tracey Neville, the sister of former Manchester United defenders Gary and Phil, has landed a new job in football.
Neville has been named Managing Director of Stockport County Women, the club announced on Thursday afternoon.

“The club is pleased to confirm the appointment of Tracey Neville as Managing Director of Stockport County Women,” Stockport posted on their X account.
“Tracey will play a key role in developing clear pathways from grassroots to elite football and helping shape the next phase of Stockport County Women.”
The 49-year-old is one of the most recognisable names on English netball having represented England 81 times, winning bronze at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur in 1998 and again in 1999 at the World Netball Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Neville also played for Northern Thunder and Leeds Carnegie before calling time on her playing career in 2008.
Off the court, she managed England between 2015 and 2019 and Northern Thunder, who rebranded as Manchester Thunder in 2013, between 2011 and 2015.
Additionally, Neville was also named the inaugural head coach of Melbourne Mavericks in 2023 before leaving her role last year.
Neville ‘proud’ to be joining Stockport
On her Stockport appointment, Neville said: “I am incredibly proud to be joining Stockport County at such a pivotal moment for the club and for the women’s game.
“My career in elite sport has shown me what is possible when there is a clear vision, strong leadership and a genuine commitment to developing talent from the ground up.
“Women’s football is at a defining point, and Stockport has the opportunity to do something special.
“This is a community club with deep roots, and my focus will be on creating a clear, credible pathway for girls and women to progress, while building the standards, culture and infrastructure needed to compete at the highest level.

“We want young girls in Stockport to believe that they can reach the top of the game without leaving their community.
“That’s how you build something powerful, sustainable and truly representative of the people it serves.”
What division to Stockport play in?
Stockport currently ply their trade in Division One North of the FA Women’s National League.
And having finished seventh last season, they have made an impressive start to the 2025-26 campaign and currently sit fourth on 25 points.
However, they have played at least three more games than those around them in the table, including Leeds in third and Cheadle Town Stingers in fifth.
Next up for Stockport is a trip to Norton & Stockton Ancients as they look to build upon a run of three wins from their last four.
