The Las Vegas Raiders are zeroing in their new head coach.

According to a report from ESPN, the Sin City franchise is expected to hire Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who has helped his team reach Super Bowl LX.

Any deal between Kubiak and the Raiders cannot be finalized until after the big game, which sees Seattle face the New England Patriots for the Lombardi Trophy on February 8.

The Raiders’ search for a new HC has been running for much of the last month, following the dismissal of Pete Carroll on the NFL‘s ‘Black Monday’ back in January.

General manager John Spytek has led the search in close collaboration with minority owner and seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady.

Kubiak is among as many as 15 candidates who interviewed with Las Vegas and once his hiring is official, it will bring an end to this year’s coaching carousel.

The Raiders, who finished rock bottom of the AFC West in back-to-back seasons, conducted a thorough interview process to find their new HC.

Las Vegas held two rounds of interviews, and on January 31, Spytek and Brady flew to Seattle to conduct a high-stakes, in-person second interview with Kubiak.

Jeremy Fowler, ESPN’s senior NFL insider, has since revealed how minority owner Brady felt when he came away from their first meeting.

“One thing I was told about Klint Kubiak and Las Vegas is that he and minority owner Tom Brady very much hit it off in the initial interview,” Fowler posted on X.

“‘Both are all ball,’ a source said. He was able to create momentum with his initial interview and that carried into this week.”

Brady’s seal of approval will no doubt have gone a long way in helping Kubiak land his first head coaching role in the NFL.

What has Klint Kubiak achieved ahead of Raiders role?

The 38-year-old coordinator will head to Sin City off the back of a sensational season — regardless of if the Seahawks win the Super Bowl on February 8.

Kubiak has done a masterful job with Seattle’s offense in his first year with the team, and Seattle finished the 2025 regular season ranked third in points and eighth in yards across the league.

Some of their best offensive work has come when it matters most, in the playoffs.

The team has scored 72 combined points across two postseason games to reach the Super Bowl, and despite his links to Las Vegas, Kubiak’s focus for the next seven days will be to tear down the Patriots defense at Levi’s Stadium.

Brady was on commentary for Fox during Seattle’s win against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game, and commented on the ‘good design’ of the offensive scheme.

Darnold threw for 346 yards and three touchdowns in that clash, during which Brady said of Kubiak: “He designed some great plays, getting his guys open. And then Darnold executing everything.”

If he does land as head coach in Las Vegas, the Raiders will be the sixth team that Kubiak has coached over the same number of seasons.

Before taking the OC job in Seattle, he was the offensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints in 2024.

Kubiak was formerly the passing game coordinator for both the San Francisco 49ers (2023) and the Denver Broncos (2022), and also spent three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.

There, he started as a quarterbacks coach before he spent his final season as the OC.
