Tigers pitcher Jack Flaherty lands on IL ahead of Tarik Skubal’s return
The Detroit Tigers made a significant roster move Saturday, placing veteran starter Jack Flaherty on the 15-day injured list while activating ace Tarik Skubal ahead of their road game vs. the Cleveland Guardians.
The move comes as the Tigers continue to closely manage their pitching staff entering the middle of the season.
The Tigers’ official public relations account announced the roster transactions on X, formerly Twitter, which also included the promotion of infielder Hao-Yu Lee and the optioning of right-hander Ty Madden to Triple-A Toledo.
“The Tigers today activated LHP Tarik Skubal off the 15-day injured list and optioned RHP Ty Madden to Triple-A Toledo. Additionally, RHP Jack Flaherty was placed on the 15-day injured list with a left peroneal strain and INF Hao-Yu Lee was recalled from Triple-A.”
