Gris Majeur

Bond Broker is still without a win over fences after four attempts and each run so far when chasing has seen him lose by 10+ lengths to the winner.

So it’s hard to fancy him even when dropping in the weights and remaining amongst Class 4 handicaps.

Gris Majeur has placed in the top three in the last four but did win the last time he was seen over this distance.

And in his last two races over around two and a half miles he’s won or placed within the neck of the winner.

Won here in October over the same trip on good to firm ground and gets some good ground to aim for this time too, conditions should suit well.

Tax For Max

Uncle Phil is an interesting case of a horse that shown real promise but is on a steep decline and could be worth backing now way, way down in the weights.

Once rated 150 over fences, he’s now been dropped to 122 and even went from Willie Mullins yard in October to Chester Williams.

Four runs in 2025 ended badly, pulling up twice at Cheltenham in October and November before finishing way back in the field twice at Newbury.

But, at Hereford earlier this month finished within 12 lengths of Largy Belter, to signal some potential might still be there.

There’s been experiments with the right headgear throughout his career and retains just the tongue tie for this.

I’d prefer to see him over further to have a punt on him now though and instead opt for less of a hopeful bet.

Tax For Max is a really interesting one though he’s the favourite for a reason.

Drops massively in the weights too and drops back to a favourable trip for the first time over fences.

This, a horse that has bumped into a fair few useful sorts over hurdles and fences now but could have found a great chase to kick-start his chasing career up again – also previously with Mullins.

A King Of Magic

A King Of Magic’s first hurdle run didn’t go too well finishing 30 lengths away in fifth but still beat nine rivals.

But he won next time out ahead of Way Of Stars who has since gone on to win again, albeit narrowly.

It shows though he could be better than expected and is a short price here to go 2-3.

Desertmore News is favourite but it seems that maiden hurdle form hasn’t quite worked out well enough to suggest he should be backed at evens.
