Saturday’s football betting tips

Bet of the Day – Livingston to beat Dundee @ 5/6

There is a huge Scottish Premiership relegation clash at Almondvale on Saturday when basement club Livingston host second bottom Dundee.

The Dee have the chance to move seven points clear of their drop zone rivals, with a victory in West Lothian, but success for Livi would close the gap to only a point and that’s the outcome we are likely to see.

Dundee have failed to win any of their eight away league matches this season and Steven Pressley’s side have taken only two points on the road.

The Dark Blues were hammered 4-1 by Aberdeen at Dens Park in their most recent Scottish top-flight contest and it’s six defeats in seven league games for the Dee.

Dundee are clearly the weakest side in the division on the underlying numbers and Livingston could deliver a knockout blow on Saturday.

Livi haven’t won for 13 league matches, but David Martindale’s men have drawn four of those games and five defeats have come by a single-goal margin.

Livingston have been far more competitive than their results suggest and an Almondvale tie against Dundee looks a golden opportunity to snap their winless run.

Longshot of the Day – Arsenal to win, over 3.5 goals, Noni Madueke & Viktor Gyokeres to score bet builder @ 5/1

Wolves have collected only two Premier League points this season, but there was a case to suggest that the Molineux men had been performing a little better than that measly tally indicates.

However, that changed when Rob Edwards’ men put in one of their weakest performances of the season in Monday’s 4-1 loss to Manchester United.

Defeat to the Red Devils made it nine reversals on the bounce for Wolves and they are likely to be hit hard by Arsenal.

The Gunners made some changes for their 3-0 Champions League victory over Club Brugge on Wednesday night and two goals from Noni Madueke and one from Gabriel Martinelli only served to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s attacking options.

The north Londoners are averaging 2.63 goals per game at their Emirates base this term and they are yet to face a side as weak as Wolves on home turf.

Take an Arsenal victory, over 3.5 goals and both Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres to score in a 5/1 bet builder.

Special of the Day – Everton or draw double chance, Brighton or draw double chance & Birmingham to beat Charlton treble @ 6/1

Liverpool and Chelsea are strong home favourites in the Premier League on Saturday, but the Reds and the Blues look too short in games against Brighton and Everton.

Chelsea haven’t won any of their last four matches and the Blues have scored only three goals on that winless run. The Toffees have the quality to at least pick up a draw at Stamford Bridge.

There is unrest at Anfield, with the Mohamed Salah saga dominating the headlines and that’s unlikely to help Arne Slot’s side improve their form. Brighton could spring a shock.

Complete a 6/1 treble by playing Birmingham to beat Charlton in the Championship. Blues were dealt a late blow in a 2-1 defeat to QPR on Tuesday night, but Chris Davies’ men have lost only one of their nine league games at St Andrew’s this term.
