Monday football betting tips
Bet of the Day – Bromley to beat Crawley 29/20
Crawley held onto a 1-1 draw at home to Colchester on Boxing Day, but the Red Devils were put under a fair amount of pressure in the closing stages of that contest and Scott Lindsey’s side could be vulnerable to Bromley.
Crawley do play some nice football, but they looked vulnerable to the U’s and have now gone eight matches without success.
Bromley turned around a 2-0 deficit to beat Bristol Rovers last time out and the Ravens were well on top after the Gas were reduced to 10 men.
Andy Woodman’s side have to be League Two title contenders in their current form and they can make it five wins on the bounce at the Broadfield Stadium, with their current streak started by a 3-1 home win over Crawley.
Longshot of the Day – Birmingham, Watford, Bolton & Barnet four-fold @ 16/1
Birmingham battered Derby on Boxing Day, but somehow they were unable to convert their dominance into three points.
Of course, Chris Davies’ men were helped by Joe Ward’s first-half red card, but Birmingham hit 25 shots, 12 corners and created an expected goals total of 2.98.
Those numbers are hard to ignore and Blues look a good bet to end their winless run against Southampton, who were beaten at struggling Oxford on Boxing Day in a third successive away defeat.
It’s only one loss in 11 Championship matches for Watford, who were good 2-1 winners at Leicester last time out.
Javier Gracia is steering his side towards the play-offs and the Hornets can beat struggling Norwich.
Bolton’s last-gasp winner against Rotherham made it nine wins in 13 games and the Whites rate serious League One title contenders. Steven Schumacher’s men can register another win against Mansfield.
Bristol Rovers squandered a 2-0 lead against Bromley on Boxing Day and the Pirates could be out of gas after playing much of that contest with 10 men.
The League Two table suggests otherwise, but Barnet are far better than the standings indicate and can buzz at the Memorial Stadium.
Special of the Day – Bet Builder: Ipswich to win & under 2.5 goals @ 19/4
Championship title rivals Coventry and Ipswich clash at the Coventry Building Society Arena with the Suffolk side really needing to beat the Sky Blues if they are to bring themselves and the chasing pack within range of Frank Lampard’s men.
The goals have dried up in the Sky Blues’ recent matches, with only six goals scored in total in their last four matches, but prior to that run, Ipswich downed the Sky Blues 3-0 in Suffolk.
The Tractor Boys have lost only two of their last 13 league games and can complete the double over the leaders on Monday.
Playing a bet builder including an Ipswich win and under 2.5 goals pays a juicy 19/4.
