Boxing Day football betting tips

Leicester to beat Watford @ 13/10

Leicester City have a magnificent record of success against Watford and the Foxes can be confident of bolstering it further when the Hornets head north to the Midlands on Boxing Day.

The King Power Stadium will be full to bursting as the festive season continues – and the Foxes can put on a show. Leicester have won nine of their last 12 matches against Watford, including winning seven of their last eight at home against the Hertfordshire outfit.

Jordan Ayew can run the Watford defence ragged and add to the Hornets’ poor away record. Watford have won only one of their 10 away games in the Championship this season.

Leicester have lost just two of their 10 home games in the league this term, conceding just 11 goals in the process. Take Marti Cifuentes’s side to triumph, which would be enough for them to leapfrog Watford in the table.

Bet builder – Norwich City v Charlton Athletic – Draw and Charlie Kelman to score @ 10/1

Charlton fans have been enthused by the return of Charlie Kelman and the Basildon-born 24-year-old can inspire the Addicks to a positive result at Norwich on Boxing Day.

Kelman suffered a hamstring injury at the start of November and spent seven weeks on the sidelines, but he bounced back to action as a substitute against Oxford United on Saturday and took just 17 minutes to get on the scoresheet.

Kelman, who starred for Leyton Orient last season before making the move from east London to south London, could be the key to a Charlton revival. Norwich have won only two of their 10 homes matches this season and Charlton can approach the assignment with confidence.

A drawn match and Kelman to score at any time is an appealing 10/1 chance.

Acca

A treble comprising Leicester to beat Watford (6/5), Coventry City to beat Swansea City (1/2) and Manchester United to beat Newcastle United (29/20) pays at 15/2.

Coventry appear the most likely Championship winners of Boxing Day. The league leaders have won eight and drawn two of their 10 home games in the league this season.

Swansea have scored only nine league goals away from home so far and are flirting with the relegation zone. Coventry have scored more home goals than any other side in the division this term – and also conceded the fewest home goals – so a home victory seems extremely likely.

Manchester United meet Newcastle United in the late Boxing Day Premier League kick-off – and the home side can edge a high-scoring contest. Newcastle’s defence has failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 10 matches, so the Red Devils will expect to outgun their visitors.

With Mason Mount and Matheus Cunha pulling the strings, the Manchester men should create enough chances to claim three points.
