- No goalscorer in Arsenal v Sporting @ 10/1
- Over 3.5 goals in Bayern Munich v Real Madrid @ 4/6
Cautious Gunners lacking firepower
Arsenal’s season is in danger of falling apart after the Gunners were beaten by Manchester City in the EFL Cup final and dumped out of the FA Cup by Southampton.
Defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday saw the north Londoners lead at the top of the Premier League and Man City are in red-hot pursuit of Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s men hold a 1-0 advantage from the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie with Sporting, but it’s difficult to think that the Gunners were convincing winners in Lisbon.
A lack of creativity is becoming a real concern for an Arsenal side which has scored just 11 goals in their last nine matches.
Sporting have allowed only nine goals in their previous 11 games, and while an Emirates tie with the Gunners is a step up to the bulk of the Lions’ opposition, Arsenal are not in free-flowing attacking form.
There has to be a strong possibility of Arteta’s side going further into their shell with a 1-0 first-leg advantage in hand and a bet on no goalscorer could hold some value on Wednesday night.
A no goalscorer punt would cover a 0-0 correct score, with the insurance of an own goal, and the 10/1 on offer looks a little too big.
A 2-1 defeat at the Bernabeu last week has left Real Madrid forced to chase the second leg of their last-eight Champions League contest with Bayern Munich and that’s a dangerous game.
Los Blancos do have the attacking talent to get back into the tie, with Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham in their ranks, but Bayern are arguably the most complete team in Europe.
The Bavarians have scored 45 times in their last 13 matches and Real Madrid have the daunting task of going on the front foot against a lethal forward line.
Los Blancos have seen 27 goals scored in their previous eight games and the Madrid men don’t appear to have the defensive fortitude to keep Bayern at bay.
Expect plenty of entertainment at the Allianz Arena and this contest looks ripe for at least four goals.
Over 3.5 is a 4/6 chance and that offer holds some value.
