Steve Clarke tipped to become next Manchester United manager after World Cup with Scotland
Steve Clarke has been told he is made for the Manchester United job.
The Scotland manager is preparing to take charge of his country at their first World Cup for 28 years.

It will be the third major tournament of Clarke’s tenure after qualifying for the last two Euros.
However, his contract is currently set to expire at the end of the tournament following seven years in charge.
Clarke tipped for Premier League job
talkSPORT’s Adrian Durham has tipped Clarke for a return to club management if he has a successful World Cup with Scotland – as the next head coach of Manchester United.
His claim came despite co-host Angelina Kelly suggesting Premier League clubs should not hire managers from the tournament.
She claimed there are ‘too many red flags’ when it comes to international coaches.
Speaking on talkSPORT Daily’s Fiery Fridays podcast, Durham jokingly replied: “Steve Clarke, right now, is fuming at you. He’s got his lawyers on the case.
“If Scotland go and win the World Cup, then nobody should take Steve Clarke? Come on.
“I think he’s made for Man United. Honestly, I think he’s made for it.”
Man United are currently in the market for a new permanent boss ahead of next season.
Michael Carrick has been installed until the end of the current campaign following the sacking of Ruben Amorim earlier this month.

England manager Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino, who is in charge of the USA, could both be available come July.
Durham added: “Fundamentally, I see where you’re coming from. The fact that Thomas Tuchel has only got a contract until the end of the World Cup.
“(He) says that somewhere along the line he’s going to be thinking at least beyond that day when England win the World Cup final and lift that trophy.
“I kind of get where you’re coming from. The Pochettino to Spurs thing would be a dream, what a story that would be.”
He continued: “So, I get it, but I’m not totally on board with you at all. I want clubs to make those massive errors.
“There’s just a moment in time, everything’s aligned, all the stars have come together and that country has had a great World Cup.

“It’s nothing to do with the manager and yet some chairman, some director of football out there somewhere thinks ‘this manager is a genius, look what he’s done with Haiti, let’s get him into our Premier League club’.
“And all of a sudden they find themselves in League One. I can’t wait for that story to happen as well, so I’d say let them get on with it.”
As for Clarke, the 62-year-old previously managed in the Premier League with West Brom between 2012 and 2013.
The Baggies’ eighth place finish under him represented their highest for 32 years, when they came fourth and qualified for the UEFA Cup.
Clarke has also had permanent spells in charge of Reading and Kilmarnock in his managerial career.
Meanwhile, he has won 35 of his 74 matches in charge of the Scotland national team.
