Stephen A. Smith slams Megan Thee Stallion for bringing Klay Thompson cheating rumors to the internet
Stephen A. Smith is not happy with how Megan Thee Stallion chose to go through with her public breakup with Klay Thompson.
The ESPN personality shared his thoughts on the matter on his Straight Shooter podcast on Monday (April 27).
“I’m having this episode on YouTube because I’m asking why is she telling his business?” the sports analyst said. “I’m not saying whatever she felt was wrong. I don’t know what happened in their relationship. Don’t want to know.”
“Ain’t none of my d–n business. Ain’t none of y’all’s either. But Megan the Stallion made it so this Saturday night.”
Smith wondered why the three-time Grammy winner “couldn’t just break up” and “go on [her] merry way.”
“How come you couldn’t just say, ‘We had our time together, but I’m back being single again. Klay Thompson and I are no longer together.’ And leave it at that. Why we got to dog the brother out?” Smith asked.
“Is there a wedding that I missed? [Were] there nuptials that took place that nobody knew about? Did we sit up there before God and say, ‘Yo, here’s what we doing,’” he added.
Megan shared on Saturday that the four-time NBA champion has been cheating on her.
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet.’ Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous?’,” she wrote, seemingly aimed at the NBA star.
Smith is not the only one with opinions on the matter as Ebro from The Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show, also shared his opinion stating that him cheating is not too shocking.
“My point is, you’ve all assumed a man who makes $300 million and has four championship rings and is running around with Steph [Curry] ain’t out here bagging joints,” he said.
However, Ebro believes that the Dallas Mavericks star did initially try to do right by the relationship initally.
“I believe that he wanted, and tried to be somebody that he wasn’t,” the radio host added. “Meg was over there with the family. She even wrote in her IG post about ‘I went to the family, and I’m doing this, and I’m doing that.’ I don’t believe Klay would’ve introduced you to his family if he wasn’t serious… He was probably trying. The problem is he’s used to being a different person.”
While several personalities have shared their thoughts on the split, Thompson has not opened up about the breakup or the cheating allegations at this time.
