Snoop Dogg stuns fans by fielding Arizona Bowl kickoff before making CFP plea
Snoop Dogg has had quite the week.
Less than 48 hours after headlining the NFL Christmas Day halftime show during a game between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions, the hip-hop icon was present at the Arizona Bowl.

His appearance came as little shock because Snoop, a football fanatic who has become something of a sports ambassador in recent years, happens to lend his name to the decade-old Tucson-based postseason contest.
But what the rapper did midway through the second quarter between the Fresno State Bulldogs and Miami RedHawks was certainly out of the ordinary.
Snoop Dogg catches live kickoff in Arizona Bowl
With the score tied 3-3 early on, Fresno State’s Dylan Lynch kicked off to restart the game.
His kick went deep into the end zone for a touchback, but it never actually touched the ground — because Snoop caught it.
Showing off his athletic prowess, the rapper stepped away from a live pitch-side interview and entered the field of play to make a clean catch.
He lost a shoe as he dived for the ball, and then got back to his feet to resume the interview.
“My bad, my bad… C’mon, I’m just doing it all today, baby,” Snoop said.
“It had to get caught.”
Unsurprisingly, the musician’s antics quickly went viral, and clips of his catch racked up millions of views on social media.
“Snoop just casually adding another sport to his resume. No notes,” one wrote on X.

“What hasn’t snoop done?” another asked.
“Snoop’s a national treasure,” a third said.
“Imagine being able to say you kicked a ball to Snoop Dogg,” a fourth posted, taking note of what will be an unforgettable moment for Lynch.
Plenty of other fans suggested it will only be a matter of time until the rapper goes under center on the football field.
He has, of course, dabbled in plenty of sports, and has made numerous in-ring appearances for WWE at WrestleMania too.
But football is one of Snoop’s biggest passions, and he also took a moment during the Arizona Bowl to weigh-in on a long-running college debate.

Snoop Dogg makes CFP plea
During the third quarter, the West Coast hip-hop legend made his way to the CW Network booth, where he suggested the College Football Playoff field needs expanding.
This year’s tournament has come under heavy scrutiny, with Notre Dame missing the cut.
“If you were the (college football) commissioner, what would you change?” CW Network play-by-play announcer Thom Brennaman asked Snoop.
“The first thing I would change, is, think about basketball, right? The NCAA (Tournament),” the rapper responded.

“It’s 64 teams that make the playoffs, right? And it’s always exciting. You never know what’s going to happen.”
“I would add 24 (to the CFP). I would go 24, take two games out, get all that championship stuff out of the way, and go 24 teams, get cracking, and see who’s going to win it all.”
Snoop went on to explain exactly why he wants to see the field expanded.
He continued: “There (are) too many teams on the outskirts that don’t get that shot, that they’re always crying and complaining.

“And when it gets to this time of the season, you really start to understand who are the elite teams. But some of the elite teams’ records don’t reflect that. They became elite as they got moving. So, if you had 24, then there’s no excuse.
“You’re going to let everybody get in. Those who ain’t supposed to be in, those who are supposed to be.
“Then there’s going to be upset, Cinderella things happening, which is what March Madness is beautiful for.
“Because you don’t know what can happen. A 16-seed can beat a 1-seed. I feel like more teams, 24 at the max, makes it a two-week experience.”
Given the storm around the CFP this season, there will be plenty of fans backing Snoop’s idea. Perhaps he can also sneak onto the field to catch a kickoff in the National Championship game one day too?
