‘She threatened me’ – Jamahal Hill speaks out after viral altercation with female UFC Hall of Famer

Jamahal Hill has released a lengthy video in response to his viral altercation with UFC Hall of Famer Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

Hill was involved in a war of words with Jedrzejczyk in the VIP lounge at UFC 323 this past weekend.

Their conversation was recorded, and Hill could be heard threatening to knock out the former UFC women’s strawweight champion.

Jedrzejczyk allegedly made negative comments about Hill’s partner and was subsequently held back by security.

Hill, the first fighter to win a UFC title after debuting from Dana White‘s Contender Series, received severe backlash online following the incident.

The 34-year-old has since uploaded a video to his YouTube channel, explaining exactly what went down.

“I’m gonna tell y’all what happened. How about this?” Hill said.

“My girl wasn’t even there. My girl was not at UFC 323. I brought my younger brother.

“I watched Nazim Sadykhov’s fight. We go upstairs to the VIP lounge… Joanna was there.

“I greet everybody. I go up to Joanna. I say, ‘Hey, what’s up champ? How you doing?’

“She’s like, ‘Oh, hey, yeah, what’s up? Where’s your girl? Oh, your girl’s not here. Where’s your girl?’

“I’m like, ‘No.’ … If there was one thing that I wish about this whole incident, I wish that I had a GoPro so that I didn’t have to say anything.

“I didn’t have to speak or anything. I could just press play, and people could see the complete insane s*** that went down from this lady.”

Hill then explained how Jedrzejczyk called him ‘Mr. Player’ and ‘Mr. Big Time,’ before telling him she was from Poland and doesn’t play around.

Hill continued: “I’m like, ‘Yo, what’s going on? Like, what happened?’ So I asked her about this.

“I said, ‘Was something said? Or did you hear something? Like, talk to me. What’s going on? What are you upset about?’

“This lady just completely flipped her s***. She’s going off. She’s like, ‘Nah, motherf*****, you like talking s***.’

“This was the first legible thing that she’s really said, so I said, ‘Okay. I was talking s***. Let’s start there. What did I say?’”

Hill claims he threatened Jedrzejczyk after comments made about his partner

Hill claims that Jedrzejczyk was never able to articulate what she was upset about before the conversation turned into threats.

“I’m like, ‘Whoa.’ Now she’s threatening me,” Hill added.

“Then she says, ‘Well, I should have smashed your girl’s head in. Go over and f****** smash your head in too. I don’t give a f***.’

“Now I’m like, she’s threatening me. Now she’s threatening my girl. I have not threatened her.

“I have not raised my voice at her. All I’ve asked her is what the issue is. What is going on?”

Hill said he asked Jedrzejczyk one final time what he had done wrong, but the same issue occurred.

UFC security then intervened, as the conversation started to escalate.

Hill continued: “They grab her, start moving her, and now she’s getting real loud talking about, ‘Yeah, just wait. I f*** you in, I f*** your girl up.’

“And I’m like, ‘Yo, if you had touched my girl, I would have knocked you the f*** out. And if you touch my girl, I’m going to knock you the f*** out.'”

The former UFC light heavyweight champion then provided context for where the disagreement with Jedrzejczyk may have stemmed from.

A couple of years ago, Hill described trying to ‘shoot his shot’ with Jedrzejczyk after a UFC show in New York.

He was then at an event with his partner, alongside Jedrzejczyk and her manager, and both parties were seated at the same table.

The American admitted that he once tried to ‘sleep with’ Jedrzejczyk

Hill said Jedrzejczyk’s manager tried to ‘dry snitch’ on him, referring to what had happened previously in New York, but said his partner already knew Hill ‘tried to sleep with her.’

Hill concluded: “After this, there was no bad blood…

“This is why, whenever I got to the event, I walked up, and I addressed her, and I approached her this way.

“She completely flipped on me. I am now being looked at, painted everywhere, which way and all this.

“I still don’t know why she’s mad. If she can tell anybody why she’s mad, please truly let me know.”

Jedrzejczyk: I expect more from former champions

Jedrzejczyk also released a video on Instagram in the aftermath of the altercation with Hill.

“I worked so hard to earn my reputation, and I am embarrassed to be in this situation,” she said.

“But when somebody uses my name falsely, without any basis in truth, I will always stand up for myself, and for that I do not deserve to be threatened…

“I expect more from each of us as individuals and as a society, and I certainly expect more from athletes in our sport — especially former champions.

“I want to thank the UFC security and staff for their professionalism. I consider this matter closed, and wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season.”

Hill shared screenshots of Instagram conversations with Jedrzejczyk before the altercation, suggesting both fighters were on good terms.

However, after witnessing their dispute at UFC 323, it seems best for both parties that the two former champions are permanently kept apart.
