RBC Heritage 2026 betting preview

While Rory McIlroy basks in the glory of winning a second straight US Masters, many of his Augusta rivals stay on the road for this week’s RBC Heritage.

They include Scottie Scheffler, who became the first player in history to go bogey-free over the final 36 holes at Augusta National, his weekend charge leaving him just one back from Rory having been 12 shots adrift after two rounds.

Scheffler won this event straight after capturing the 2024 Masters so don’t presume he’ll be suffering any sort of fatigue or lack of motivation.

The World No.1 is the man to beat and many will be tempted by odds just shy of 4/1.

Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina is a Pete Dye-designed par 71, measuring 7,233 yards and has narrow fairways and small greens.

Trees often overhang so it’s about shotmaking rather than just blasting driver.

Looking at the stats of past winners shows that Strokes Gained: Approach is key, as is Around The Green/Scrambling.

Justin Thomas took the title in 2025 to end a near three-year victory drought and, in doing so, became the fifth American winner in the last six years.

As a contrast to last week’s Masters, the champion is handed a plaid jacket rather than a green one.

RBC Heritage 2026 betting tips

Here are some key betting tips and insights for the RBC Heritage 2026.

🏌️‍♂️ Cantlay to claim Plaid Jacket

A popular and fruitful betting strategy in this post-Masters event is to back a player who did well at Augusta last week but didn’t over-exert themselves.

Patrick Cantlay ticks that box which makes him a particularly appealing punt.

Harbour Town throws up its share of course horses – as you’d expect for a quirky layout – and Cantlay is just about at the top of the list.

Although he’s yet to win this title, he’s done everything but.

The Californian lost a playoff to Jordan Spieth in 2022 and has racked up four other top threes, a seventh and a 13th in eight visits.

Cantlay’s 12th place at the Masters included middle rounds of 67-66 and was his second-best finish at Augusta.

🏌️‍♂️ Russell Henley to beat Cameron Young in match bet

Russell Henley and Cameron Young finished locked together in tied third on the final US Masters leaderboard.

But their stories were very different and that’s why I prefer to back Henley to win a 72-hole match bet between the pair.

Young led by two at one point on Sunday so not getting it done will have been a bitter pill to swallow.

Henley, by contrast, was always chasing so his third place was a more positive experience.

Course form? Young was third on debut here but hasn’t made the top 50 in each of the last three years while Henley has two top 10s and a further two top 20s in his previous five visits.

🏌️‍♂️ Sahith Theegala for Top 10

Sahith Theegala missed the Masters but prior to Augusta he’d finished T10 in Houston – his fourth top 10 of the season.

With a second and a fifth in four starts at this course, the American is a tasty Top 10 bet.

⛳ Back Sahith Theegala in the Top 10 market at 5/1 with Ladbrokes⛳
