Rangers’ Wyatt Langford could return from injury soon, but there’s a catch

The Texas Rangers have been up and down this season, and one of the reasons can be injuries. A week ago, Wyatt Langford was placed on the 10-day injured list with a Grade 1 right forearm flexor strain, and many are expecting him to make his return soon.

Though there is optimism that he will be back, there is a catch to his return, and it involves the weather, according to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com.

“Skip Schumaker said Wyatt Langford will likely be activated this weekend, but weather in Texas could hinder the ability for him to go on a rehab before that. There are a number of options to work through for him to get live at-bats, but the weekend remains the target date,” Landry wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

If the weather prevents him from going through a proper rehab, it may take him a little bit more time to get back on the field, but it shouldn’t be that long. On the other hand, if all is well, it looks like he’ll back in a couple of days.

Langford is hitting .238 with one home run, four RBIs, three doubles, and two triples, along with a .274 OBP and .363 SLG through 20 games this season, and he was on a roll before he got injured. He was on a five-game hitting streak, batting .435 and reaching base in 11 consecutive games, which tied the longest on-base streak by a Ranger this season.

The hope is that Langford can get back to that production when he returns, which will help the Rangers stay on track as the season continues.
