Premier League Darts – Week 5 prediction
Stephen Bunting made the trip to Belfast for last week’s night of Premier League Darts having lost all three of his quarter final clashses, but didn’t let that stop him from putting on one of the most dominant nightly performances of the year last week.
‘The Bullet’ averaged 107 in his 6-4 win over reigning Premier League champion Luke Humphries in his quarter final clash before averaging 106 in a 6-0 whitewash of Week 3 winner Jonny Clayton, and going on to beat Gian van Veen 6-2 in the final.
Bunting was a 28/1 shot at the start of the night to win, but his heroics last week have seen his price drop to 12/1 ahead of tonight’s night in Cardiff.
A blockbuster quarter final gets the action underway in Cardiff tonight as seven time Premier League champions Michael van Gerwen takes on defending champion Humphries.
The Dutchman has started the Premier League season well with victory on opening night followed by a run to the final the following week and currently sits third in the standings, while Humphries sits down in sixth with just two wins from his six matches so far this year and is yet to make it past a semi final.
The winner of that opening match up will face either van Veen, who has reached three of the four finals so far but is yet to secure a victory on the night, up against home favourite and current table topper Clayton, who has won all four of his quarter final matches so far.
The second half of the draw then starts with another Welshman, Gerwyn Price, playing in front of his home crowd as he takes on last week’s champion Bunting, who will head into tonight in supremely confident mood.
The winner of that quarter final will take on the winner of the current bottom two in the table, as world champion Luke Littler, winner of just two of his six matches in the competition so far without having reached a final yet, takes on Josh Rock, the rookie without a win to his name but did hit the league’s only nine darter this season last week in front of his home fans in Belfast.
Clayton has been this year’s surprise package, invited to compete in the Premier League for the first time since 2023, has stormed to the top of the table, the only player to win all four of his quarter finals and even picked up victory in Glasgow a fortnight ago.
The chance to play in front of his home crowd tonight will surely only elevate his performance, along with fellow countryman Price who should be expected to perform well tonight, in what could very feasibly result in an all-Welsh final.
Premier League Darts – Week 5 betting tips
Jonny be good
Jonny Clayton sits top of the Premier League standings a quarter of the way into the 2026 season having won all four of quarter final matches so far and even securing victory in Week 3 in Glasgow.
‘The Ferret’ is a much loved player in the darting world, particularly in his native Wales and will no doubt be out to impress in his home country later tonight.
- Jonny Clayton to win Week 5 at 10/1 with BetMGM
The Price is right
For similar reasons, Price will be desperate to work his way to at least a couple of wins tonight in front of his home faithful, three weeks after earning his victory in Antwerp.
The Welshman averaged over 100 in both of his matches last week and heads into Cardiff in strong form, with the prospect of an all-Welsh final tonight a distinct possibility.
- Gerwyn Price to reach the final at 7/2 with BetMGM
