Paul Pierce’s NSFW reaction to OG Anunoby Finals MVP buzz

The New York Knicks own a 3-1 series lead in the NBA Finals over the San Antonio Spurs after securing a 107-106 Game 4 win on Wednesday. OG Anunoby has been fantastic throughout the series, as his efforts on both offense and defense have been among the main reasons New York is one win away from a title. His play is so good that Paul Pierce is ready to name him Finals MVP.

In the latest episode of “No Fouls Given,” Pierce went on an NSFW rant about Anunoby deserving the Finals MVP Award over any other player on the Knicks. The ex-Boston Celtics superstar seemingly loves what he’s seen from OG Anunoby, and thinks the 28-year-0ld forward has been the best player on the court throughout the series.

“I’m not giving OG Anunoby no G** d*** flowers, I’m giving him the finals MVP,” proclaimed Pierce. “Take that home, OG. I’m telling you. Take home the Finals MVP. He’s been dominant…

The nine-year veteran was a monster in Game 4 for the Knicks. He ended the contest with 33 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block while shooting 66.6% from the field and hitting 77.7% of his three-point attempts.

Anunoby’s late-game heroics also clinched the win, as he blocked De’Aaron Fox’s layup attempt to prevent the Spurs from taking a three-point lead, then tipped in Jalen Brunson’s missed three-point attempt for what turned out to be the game-winner. Simply put, he was in the right place at the right time throughout the contest.

But it hasn’t just been Game 4. OG Anunoby has been amazing throughout the entire series. Through four games played in the NBA Finals so far, Anunoby is averaging 23.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks per matchup. He also owns a 58.0% field goal percentage and is shooting 55.6% from beyond the three-point line.
