Several members of the Pakistan men's cricket team have reportedly lodged an official complaint against head coach Mike Hesson. The incident has surfaced on the floor right after the side's horrendous exit from the T20 World Cup 2026. This has left the situation in the Pakistani dressing room in huge turmoil once again, as there is a reported rift between the coaching staff and the players.

The team is not okay with how Hesson goes about his conduct with the players within the dressing room, and his coaching technique has not been very welcoming. Some senior players in the squad have also raised concerns around the "planning, authority and man-management" of Hesson ever since he has taken the coaching job with the Men in Green.

As reported by Geo News, Hesson's place as the head coach is completely safe, though. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has listened to all the complaints that it has received from the players and other key members of the team. Thus, him being removed from the head coach's position seems to be highly unlikely.

However, he has received a warning from the PCB officials that his "flawed planning and unilateral decision-making" methods led to the 2009 champions ultimately being bowed out of the twenty-team tournament. It is worth noting that Hesson's influence within the setup has grown into concerns for the selection committee as well as the skipper Salman Ali Agha.

Agha and the selectors were reportedly quite disappointed after Hesson had made the call to drop senior batter Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Nafay and Abrar Ahmed out of the Playing XI throughout the Super Eights before they finally got a game against Sri Lanka in Pallekele, where they achieved their only win of the stage in a last-over thriller.

It will be interesting to see how PCB looks into the matter, since there have been quite a few instances of rifts between players and coaches in the recent past for the Pakistani side.
