Oleksandr Usyk perfectly sums up Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua in 10-word prediction

Oleksandr Usyk doesn’t fancy Jake Paul’s chances against Anthony Joshua.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer is set to square off against AJ on December 19 at Miami’s Kaseya Center in an eight-round professional heavyweight bout.

Ahead of the Netflix showdown, Joshua announced that he had split from his trainer Ben Davison and joined Usyk’s camp in a bid to learn from a team that bested him twice.

Usyk isn’t sparring with Joshua, but has been in and around his camp as he prepares for the lucrative £140m spectacle.

Asked by Boxing King Media how he sees the fight going, Usyk initially said that he “didn’t know” before casting a very clear verdict.

“A Rolls-Royce cannot have any competition from a Fiat,” said the former pound-for-pound king.

“It makes no sense. Anthony Joshua is the Rolls-Royce, Jake Paul is the Fiat.”

Paul, who first laced up a pair of gloves 7 years ago, opens up as a sizeable underdog against the two-time unified heavyweight champion.

Not only does Joshua possess superior fundamentals and a great deal more experience – he’s also significantly bigger.

Natural cruiserweight (200lbs), Paul, has only ever boxed at heavyweight once for a low-risk bout with a 58-year-old Mike Tyson.

Joshua, on the other hand, is currently walking around at 260lbs and has competed in boxing’s glamour division since his amateur days.

He will have to cut down to 245lbs to make a contracted weight limit for the fight.

Meanwhile, Paul is focusing on piling on mass after previously dieting down to 195lbs for an exhibition bout with Gervonta Davis, which was initially scheduled for November 14 before its cancellation.

Tyson Fury disagrees with Oleksandr Usyk

It seems unfathomable that Paul could beat Joshua, unless you are Tyson Fury.

‘The Gypsy King’ claims he is willing to bet £1million on Paul winning via knockout.

However, it’s unclear how serious he actually is about that.

“Jake Paul chins AJ, yes. 100 per cent. If they fight, I’m putting a million pounds on Jake Paul,” he said.

“I think that AJ is a spent force, and I think Jake Paul is on the rise.

“I like his new heavyweight look; he is a bit chubby, a bit bulky; he is getting there.”
