‘Not important’ – Bruno Fernandes gives cheeky response to Manchester United fan on verge of haircut

Bruno Fernandes has jokingly suggested that he needs a haircut amid the approaching conclusion of a viral Manchester United challenge.

United supporter Frank Ilett, also known as The United Strand, vowed to not cut his hair until they win five consecutive matches across all competitions.

You have to go as far back as October 2024 for his most recent trim, with his hair undergoing huge growth since then.

However, Ilett could be closing in on a long-awaited haircut thanks to the club’s recent form.

United’s 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday was their fourth victory in a row.

The challenge will therefore come to an end if they beat West Ham on Wednesday night, live on talkSPORT.

However, club captain Fernandes appears to be more concerned with his own trim rather than that of Ilett’s.

When asked by a reporter if Ilett can book a haircut appointment, he replied: “No, no, I need to book for myself.

Fernandes added: “I don’t really look at other people if they need to go to the hairdresser.

“That’s not important for me.”

United Strand reveals dream cut

Ilett has experienced a spike in popularity throughout his challenge, despite having his hair grabbed by a fellow fan in September.

United’s inability to win five consecutive matches across 16 months aside, a charity will benefit from his challenge.

During an interview with talkSPORT, Ilett confirmed that he will be donating his hair to The Little Princess Trust.

The trust provide wigs to children and young people up to 24-years-old who have lost hair from cancer treatment or other conditions.

Ilett also told talkSPORT about his dream scenario for the cut, which features an appearance at United’s historic home.

“There’s nothing concrete yet, there a few talks. But, my ideal thing would be to get it cut at Old Trafford by one of the players,” he said.

“I completely understand why they haven’t been in contact with me, I completely get that.

“But I’m hoping once there’s maybe a bit more of a positive vibe around results and things like that, if we’re on four-in-a-row, then hopefully they might feel like they’re in a place to sort that out for me.”
