NFL’s flimsy ‘Tom Brady rule’ already being tested by $288m QB who could try to avenge Falcons’ 28-3 failure

This is what happens when the NFL allows Tom Brady to make his own rules.

Brady never should have been allowed to double dip as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and lead analyst on FOX’s NFL TV coverage.

Brady started a trend that must stop

But Brady’s bounced from wearing a headset in the Raiders’ coaching booth to having a huge say in the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and Roger Goodell’s football machine has continued to ignore a conflict of interest that is so massive it’s historic.

“General manager John Spytek will lead all football operations in close collaboration with Tom Brady, including the search for the club’s next head coach,” Raiders owner Mark Davis said on Monday, while announcing that Las Vegas had turned Pete Carroll into a one-and-done head coach.

“Together, they will guide football decisions with a shared focus on leadership, culture, and alignment with the organization’s long-term vision and goals.”

That statement made it clearer than ever that Brady holds an integral role in the Raiders’ organization, while he’s allowed weekly to sift through privileged league information as one of the biggest announcers in pro sports — with a $375 million TV contract.

The follow up to the NFL allowing Brady to get away with it all?

Matt Ryan answering Black Monday by being linked with a newly created all-powerful position with the Atlanta Falcons.

“We will be adding a new president of football from outside the organization,” said Falcons owner Arthur Blank in a statement, after Atlanta fired Raheem Morris as head coach.

“The leader in this new role will set the vision and identity for our team. Our new head coach and general manager will report to the new president of football, and they will work collaboratively as a football leadership team on all football decisions.”

Ryan still a rival of Brady after 28-3 loss

Brady would love to also be the ‘president of football’ of the Raiders.

If his Super Bowl LI nemesis receives that honor with the Falcons, the richest sports league in the world will have a serious perception problem among fans.

Ryan also hopes to remain in his role an NFL TV analyst on CBS, according to NFL Network.

“Now likely moving forward with Matt Ryan who is, from my understanding, hoping to retain his duties at CBS, as well,” Tom Pelissero reported.

“Also taking on that job on that job as the president of football operations.”

Cue the simmering outrage from football fans across America, who appear to have a better understanding of fairness and a level playing field than the commissioner of the NFL.

“He’s either all in or needs to stay where he’s at,” one fan tweeted.

“If Tom (Brady) can steal info, we can, too,” a second fan posted.

NFL's Greatest......

Ranking the top 10......

Quarterbacks of all-time – Can anyone better Tom Brady?

Wide receivers of all-time – Does Randy Moss or Jerry Rice come out on top?

Running backs of all-time – Stacking Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith and more

Tight ends of all-time – How does Travis Kelce compare?

“I don’t want to be Matt Ryan’s side hustle,” a third fan said.

“This guy thinks he should get special treatment,” a fourth fan wrote. “He’s no Tom Brady.”

Power is king in the NFL

Ryan could end up with more league-wide power than Brady, which would instantly make Ryan the most powerful former quarterback in NFL history.

Not bad for initially being the guy who was outplayed by TB12 in Super Bowl LI and watched the Falcons blow a 28-3 lead with 2 minutes and 7 seconds left in the third quarter.

That stunning overtime victory cemented Brady’s status as the NFL’s GOAT and gave the New England Patriots the greatest modern dynasty in pro football.

Eight years later, Ryan could follow in Brady’s conflicted footsteps and outdo his former rival.

Ryan can become the Falcons’ president of football, holding more say than the team’s new coach and general manager.

Brady will still be trying to prove himself as a legit NFL announcer, all while realizing that bringing Geno Smith and Carroll back together in Las Vegas was a horrible idea for Raiders fans.
