‘Mr. Bing Bong’ adds himself to list of celebrities at NBA Finals Game 1 after Knicks snub

The NBA later shared a list of notable attendees, featuring a mix of sports legends, entertainers, and prominent public figures. Among those recognized were Timothée Chalamet, Ben Stiller, Spike Lee, Tracy Morgan, Patrick Ewing, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginóbili, and David Robinson.

However, one well-known Knicks supporter noticed a glaring omission.

Actor and longtime Knicks fan Jerry O’Connell responded to the NBA’s post with a simple message: “And Mr. Bing Bong…” while reposting the league’s celebrity roundup.

The joke referenced O’Connell’s now-famous “Mr. Bing Bong” persona, which became closely tied to the Knicks’ fan culture during the team’s recent playoff runs. His playful response suggested he felt deserving of a spot alongside the other celebrity attendees listed by the league.

The NBA’s graphic highlighted more than two dozen recognizable names from both sides of the Finals matchup, including Fat Joe, Rich Paul, Shane Gillis, Danny Green, Gregg Popovich, Avery Johnson, and Tori Kelly.

With the Knicks taking Game 1, the star power around the series appears unlikely to slow down. New York’s celebrity fan base has remained highly visible throughout the postseason, and even more familiar faces could emerge when the series shifts to Madison Square Garden next week.

For now, O’Connell made sure one name was not forgotten, even if he had to add it himself.
