Mike Vrabel hounded by ‘photographer’ who crossed line with Dianni Russini scandal questions

Ever since the scandal involving Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini became public, they’ve been the center of attention and subject to scrutiny.

Matters were made worse when a “photographer,” as TMZ noted, hounded him at an airport. The New England Patriots head coach was asked to resign by the “photographer.”

Initially, things seemed friendly, as the interviewer asked how Vrabel was “holding up.” However, he then called out the “little bit of a double standard” in his situation.

Things continued to get more aggressive as he brought up the idea that Vrabel should “step down” as the Patriots’ head coach since the scandal is causing a “distraction.”

The interviewer continued following Vrabel outside of the airport, asking what “accountability” looks like to him. Eventually, Vrabel reached his vehicle and presumably drove away. The person behind the camera then wished him “good luck.”

The drama surrounding the Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini scandal won’t die

Over the last few weeks, the scandal involving Vrabel and Russini has continued to be the center of attention. It all started after Page Six published photos of them hanging out, holding hands at a resort in Sedona, Arizona.

This sparked controversy for a few reasons. First, they are both married to other people. Additionally, Russini was the lead NFL insider at The Athletic at the time, who suspended her after the photos first emerged. She would later resign from the outlet amid the drama.

Russini covered the NFL for The Athletic, which includes the Patriots, who are now coached by Vrabel. However, their relationship seems to predate that, as photos of them from as early as 2020 have since popped up. This called her reporting into question since having relations with an NFL coach could create a conflict of interest.

While Russini resigned from The Athletic, Vrabel is still the coach of the Patriots. He missed some of the 2026 NFL Draft to attend counseling. Fans will have to wait and see how much of a distraction the scandal continues to be heading into the summer and 2026 season.
