Michael Strahan hints at major career move while discussing NFL retirement with Travis Kelce
Michael Strahan was once the best pass-rusher in football, but now he is arguably more well-known for his TV work.
His 15-year-career with the New York Giants began in 1993 after being selected in the second round of the NFL Draft.

Strahan would go on to become a franchise legend, setting the record for sacks, with 141.5, which was also fifth all-time at the time of his retirement in 2008.
He also set the single-season sack record in 2001 with 22.5, breaking New York Jets’ Mark Gastineau’s total of 22.
This record stood for 25 years, until Cleveland Browns’ Myles Garrett broke it just over a month ago.
His final game was Super Bowl XLII, where he had one sack and two tackles as the Giants beat the New England Patriots 17-14.
Michael Strahan hints at next career move post GMA
Since retiring, Strahan has gone on to work with Good Morning America (GMA), NFL on FOX, and has appeared on Thursday Night Football coverage with Amazon Prime.
In recent years, the Giants legend has been vocal about stepping away from his TV-hosting duties, mainly due to the health of his daughter, who was diagnosed with brain cancer.
Just last year, amid rumors of him parting ways with GMA, he ultimately ended up signing a new deal, which provided him a lighter work schedule.
With the NFL season almost over, Strahan joined the New Heights Podcast, where he once again teased his future in TV.
When Jason Kelce asked Strahan what was next for him, he immediately responded: “Retirement.”
“I love Fox. I truly love that. But you work so much, I want to go here, I want to go there, and I can’t do a lot of things because I’ve got these commitments and schedules and stuff,” he added.

“At this point, I have to look at time lived and time left. I’m not just going to completely disappear.
“I’ll do Fox until they throw me off of Fox. I don’t want to be 80 years old on Fox, but I’ll stick around a little bit longer.”
Strahan gives retirement advice to Travis Kelce
Strahan spoke to Travis, who himself is mulling the idea of retirement following 13-seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.
After losing Super Bowl LIX to the Philadelphia Eagles, there were questions as to whether he would retire then.
But he remained adamant about the enjoyment he gets out of it, and he could still play a high level of football.
Kelce has accumulated just over 13,000 receiving yards as Kansas City’s tight end, and has won three Super Bowls.
However, after a season in which the Chiefs failed to make the playoffs, the questions about Kelce’s playing status have resurfaced.
“You know that, at some point, you’ll never put on another helmet, you’ll never put on another pair of shoulder pads,” Straham told Kelce.
“So, I realised for me, after 15 years, I’d done everything, and there was no way I was going to cry at a press conference for my retirement, because I knew I put everything I had into it.
“And as long as you know that, it’s final and you’ll never do it again, then great. That’s how I looked at my career, and everything that came after kind of happened by accident, from working hard and enjoying what I’m doing.”

Kelce then asked Strahan if he knew going into the 2007 season that it would be his last: “I kind of felt like it,” he answered.
“But I will say, had we lost to the Patriots, I really would have strongly considered coming back.
“That was kind of like, ‘Okay, what else am I trying to prove? My body feels good. I’ve won every individual award and won the ultimate award, which is the Super Bowl, with my team. So, nothing else for me to accomplish.”
Kelce will be in high demand from networks when he finally calls it a career, and he could have multiple potential deals already in the works.
