Mark Wahlberg reveals secret Masters round after 4am workout and he’ll never pump iron with Tom Brady
The legend of Mark Wahlberg’s 4 a.m. workout routine is still alive.
One of the most versatile leading men in Hollywood didn’t just play at the Masters the morning after Rory McIlroy made history as a back-to-back champion.

Wahlberg, who is starring in the newly released Balls Up with Paul Walter Hauser, also made time to get in a 4 a.m. workout before hitting the famous greens of Augusta National Golf Club.
“I was at Augusta playing golf on the Monday morning after the Masters, and I worked out there at 4 a.m.,” Wahlberg exclusively told talkSPORT.
“So I’m bi-coastal, still staying on the schedule.”
Stories about the 54-year-old Wahlberg’s chiselled abs and thick biceps decorate the internet, while his 31 million Instagram followers soak up regular updates about a workout routine that can feature crunches with weight, decline pushups and incline dumbbell presses.
“It is 4 a.m. We’re in the gym. This Friday on the 4 a.m. club we’ve got f***ing Druski. I imagine he’s coming from the club to my house,” a smiling Wahlberg recently posted.
The Boston native and star of The Departed, Boogie Nights and Three Kings is also one of the most famous fans of the city’s trophy-laden sports scene, which features the Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins.
But even though former New England quarterback and seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady is also known for his near-perfect athletic frame, that doesn’t mean that Wahlberg has crossed paths with Brady in the 4 a.m. club — and there’s a specific reason why.
Brady attacks body differently than Oscar nominee
“I have not worked out with Tom,” Wahlberg told talkSPORT.
“We’ve hung out quite a bit and we’re very friendly. But he does a kind of different approach.
“A lot of his stuff is more mobility driven. Even though I’m working towards longevity and mobility, I still incorporate a lot of heavy weights.”

Brady, 48, recently stunned NFL fans by looking game-ready during a flag football competition.
The FOX Sports NFL analyst and minority owner of Birmingham City revealed that he considered coming out of retirement because he was still playing at a high level.
But the greatest QB in NFL history is also a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, and the league made it known that Brady couldn’t do everything at once.
While Wahlberg and Brady don’t cross paths in the gym at 4 a.m., the two-time Academy Award nominee tipped his cap to Brady’s ongoing athletic dedication.
Brady going ‘lean’ as he nears 50 years old
“He looks like he’s putting on a little bit of lean muscle now,” Wahlberg said.
“His philosophy before was a lot of band work and stuff, where I was working a lot with a lot of weights. He even got Gronk (Rob Gronkowski) and those guys into starting to do band work.

“He wanted to get Julian Edelman into not lifting weights, as well. But I think Julian Edelman realised that he was going to be going across the middle and probably meeting with (former Seattle Seahawks safety) Kam Chancellor full speed, so he decided to continue to still lift weights.”
Hauser, who rivals Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and John Cena in balancing acting with wrestling, said that he and Wahlberg “clearly had a bunch of fun making” Balls Up.
The raunchy comedy sees Wahlberg and Hauser play the roles of marketing executives who push a ‘balls out’ pitch of a full-coverage condom sponsorship that ties into the World Cup.
A drunken celebration in Brazil is followed by furious fans, criminals, power-hungry officials, a global scandal and a classic appearance from Sacha Baron Cohen (Ali G, Borat).
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup less than 60 days away, Wahlberg joked that he discovered something special while sharing the screen with Hauser.
“I think that it’s absolutely perfect timing,” Wahlberg said.
“I learned that it’s a real stat that there’s more condoms sold during the World Cup than any other time.
“It’s like perfect. We’re going to change the game. I think we may actually launch a real Balls Up product.”
Balls Up is out now on Prime Video.
