Liverpool and Manchester United scheduled to play at same bizarre time in fixture revamp

The latest Premier League fixture amendments have been confirmed for the penultimate weekend of the season and there are some strange timings.

A series of matches have been rescheduled on Sunday, May 17 due to being selected for live television coverage.

With the FA Cup final coming up on Saturday, May 16, there will be no Premier League matches held on that day.

New dates have been confirmed for Manchester City and Chelsea’s rearranged fixtures due to their involvement in the final.

And the latest announcement has also confirmed how the other affected games that weekend have been changed.

Aston Villa’s home clash with Liverpool will now take place at 12.30pm on Sunday, May 17.

Nottingham Forest’s trip to Manchester United has been schedule for the same time having also been selected by the broadcaster.

However, one of those matches will be moved to 8pm on Friday, May 15 due to the Europa League final.

Villa and Forest meet in the semi-finals of the competition, with one of them advancing to the final on Wednesday, May 20.

12:30pm kick-offs are usually only held on Saturdays but the FA Cup final has seen the Premier League weekend shifted forward by a day which may catch some fans out.

New dates confirmed

City have been handed a new date and kick-off time for their home clash with Crystal Palace.

The two sides’ original meeting was postponed due to City’s involvement in the Carabao Cup final in March.

Palace will now travel to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, May 13 with kick-off at 8pm.

City then face Bournemouth away from home on Tuesday, May 19 at 7.30pm.

Pep Guardiola’s side had asked that the matches be played opposite way round, but their request was rejected.

Their FA Cup final opponents Chelsea will host Tottenham Hotspur at 8.15pm on Tuesday, May 19.

  • Newcastle United vs West Ham United – 5.30pm, live on Sky Sports

Monday, May 18

  • Arsenal vs Burnley – 8pm, live on Sky Sports

Tuesday, May 19

  • Bournemouth vs Manchester City – 7.30pm, live on Sky Sports
  • Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur – 8.15pm, live on Sky Sports

Elsewhere, Newcastle United vs West Ham will now kick-off at 5.30pm on Sunday, May 17.

And Arsenal will host Burnley on Monday, May 18 at 8pm, with both matches set to be aired on Sky Sports.

The four remaining matches on Matchday 37 – Brentford v Crystal Palace, Everton v Sunderland, Leeds United v Brighton and Wolves v Fulham – will take place at 3pm on Sunday, May 17.
