Liam Rosenior told how to instantly win over Chelsea fans as new Blues boss bucks 10-year trend and gets key trait ‘absolutely spot-on’ in managerial debut
Liam Rosenior delivered an emphatic victory on his Chelsea debut as they thrashed Charlton Athletic 5-1 in the FA Cup.
Jorrel Hato fired the Blues ahead on the stroke of half-time before an excellent second half performance swept the hosts aside.

Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez were all involved in the scoring despite a brave performance from Charlton.
Rosenior, who was announced as Chelsea head coach on Tuesday, has not only impressed in his first outing but also ended a ten-year wait.
He is first permanent Blues boss to win their first competitive match since Antonio Conte in 2016.
Maurizio Sarri, Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino and Enzo Maresca either drew or lost theirs.

How can Rosenior win over Chelsea fans?
Chelsea will make yet another appearance in the fourth round of the FA Cup thanks to their win at The Valley.
They return to cup action on Wednesday night as they face Arsenal in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie.
Rosenior has arrived with limited managerial experience at the top level, so some have questioned if he’s got the credentials for the job.
But when he spoke on commentary for talkSPORT, former Blue Scott Minto highlighted their next match as a key fixture for his tenure.
“You asked me at the start of what I made of Liam Rosenior’s side and I said it was brave.
“I did say before the team sheet even came out that it was going to be fascinating the team that he picks tonight because of the Arsenal game coming up.

“A great way to really get Chelsea fans to love you is to beat Arsenal over two legs and maybe even win that trophy the way Jose Mourinho did early in his first season [2004/05].”
Rosenior got Chelsea mentality ‘spot-on’
After the gargantuan upset Macclesfield pulled off against Crystal Palace earlier in the day, Chelsea hoped to avoid an embarrassment.
An away trip to a Championship side they haven’t faced since 2007 was always going to be tough, but Rosenior’s guidance made it easy.
Minto believes he expertly crafted the mindset of his players away at Charlton, which in turn led to their five-goal display.
“What you don’t want to do is lose your very first game in the FA Cup third round to a Championship side.
“He’s picked this side and I’m thinking, ‘OK, let’s see the mentality’. Clearly the mentality is absolutely spot-on.

“What we’re seeing here are a group of players who are desperate to try and impress their new manager and say, ‘Gaffer, I’m a good player, I should be playing regularly.'”
Chelsea will learn their fourth round opponents during the draw on Monday night.
