Keaton Mitchell start or sit: Week 16 fantasy football advice
Week 16 of the 2025 NFL season continues on tonight with a battle of AFC playoff contenders as the New England Patriots visit the Baltimore Ravens at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
The Ravens ended their two-game losing skid with a 24-0 blanking of the Bengals last Sunday and managed to stay within a game of the Steelers in the AFC North title race. Running back Keaton Mitchell played his part in that big victory and will have to do so again in tonight’s critical matchup.
Below, we’ll go over Mitchell’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 16.
Fantasy Football analysis: Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell
Mitchell played a big role on the ground for the Ravens in last week’s win over the Bengals, taking eight carries for 66 rushing yards and he was notably on the field for more snaps than Derrick Henry in the contest. Granted, Henry was able to cram in 100 rushing yards into his light work load, but having a backup that could handle business like Mitchell certainly helped.
Mitchell now has over 140 rushing yards in his last two games combined and he’s carving out a sustained role in the offense as Baltimore fights for the AFC North crown. NFL Next Gen Stats pointed out this week that he is tied with Jonathan Taylor and Jahmyr Gibbs for most runs that have reached at least 20 miles per hour this season at six, so we know that he can become a true gamebreaker when he breaks out into the open field.
Start or sit in Week 16?
Sit. Opposing running backs are averaging just 13.4 fantasy per game against the Pats defense this season, the lowest amount in the entire NFL. They are one of just two teams that has yet to give up 1,000 yards to opposing backs so if any Ravens ball-carrier is going to have a somewhat decent outing, it’s most likely going to be Henry. Keep Mitchell on the bench.
