Karl-Anthony Towns toasts ‘amazing’ Knicks fans for traveling to San Antonio

Thanks to their dramatic and historic victory in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, the New York Knicks are one win away from what would be their first championship since 1973.

The Knicks have the chance to put the finishing touches on what would be a historic victory over the San Antonio Spurs when the series resumes in Texas on Saturday evening at Frost Bank Center. And as was the case in the first two games of the series at the venue, thousands of Knicks fans are expected to be in attendance.

Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns has noticed the tremendous fan support he and his teammates have been getting, and he made sure to give traveling Knicks fans a shoutout before Game 5.

“Yeah, it was a wild experience to be on the road and feel like it was a home game,” Towns said via SNY Knicks on X. “Knicks fans are amazing, our fans really bring it every single game, regardless of where it’s at.”

Towns then referenced how well Knicks fans traveled to their pair of preseason games against the Philadelphia 76ers at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, demonstrating their passion.

“I didn’t know I would still have that same experience in Abu Dhabi in the preseason, and they flew all the way out there too and made it known that it was going to be a home game wherever we go in the world,” he said. “Our fans are special, man. And they bring so much love, energy, and support.”

Tip-off for Game 5 is scheduled for Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET. If the Spurs pull off a win, the series would shift back to New York for Game 6 on Tuesday evening.
