John Fury to rejoin Tyson Fury camp for comeback as he vows to whip ‘fat’ son into shape
John Fury insists he will play a more significant role in his son’s camp ahead of his return to the ring.
‘The Gypsy King’ hung up his gloves last year following back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk, but is currently out in Thailand gearing up for a comeback.

Videos recently emerged of Fury training with Kevin Lerena, and fans were left concerned by the shape of the two-time heavyweight world champion.
Fury looked to be carrying some extra timber around his midriff and later admitted to being a hefty 20 stone (280lbs).
The plan is for Fury to trim himself down to below 19 stone (266lbs) before he steps back between the ropes.
And his dad, John, has been drafted in to help him shift the weight.
What has John Fury said about his involvement in his son’s camp?
“I am going to be more involved this time,” Fury Sr told Goldstar Promotions.
“And hear this: Father and son… Tyson’s going to win the heavyweight championship for the third time, and you can bank your f***ing money on that!
“He’s not in fantastic shape, that’s bull****.
“But he will be. Have another look at him, because when I go out in the next week, there will be no more of this internet bull****, every move on the internet.
“Head down, work, and get a body. Learn to move again. Learn to twist and be awkward. Herky jerky.
“Look like a fighter, man. Look like a warrior. He’ll look like a f***ing Spartan by April, and he will be heavyweight champion of the world again.

“It does matter. It f***ing does matter. If it’s muscle, it does not matter.
“If it is fat, it matters. Anybody will tell you that. But listen, we know where we are going.
“I know where he went wrong. I know. And we are going to put it right.
“And if I’m wrong, I’ll walk through London, main street, with no trousers on and I’ll eat out a f***ing donkey.”
Fury Sr has been in and out of his son’s camps over the years.
He came under fire for shouting over head trainer SugarHill Steward during Fury’s inaugural encounter with Usyk in May 2024 and was removed from his corner ahead of the rematch.

The pendulum now appears to have swung the other way, although it remains to be seen under what capacity Fury Sr will work with his son.
Who is Tyson Fury fighting next?
Fury is expected to box three times this year, with his next outing set to fall in the first quarter of 2026.
Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov is one of the frontrunners to box Fury first, while Brandon Moore of the United States has also thrown his hat into the ring.
The plan is then for Fury to build towards a blockbuster summer showdown with either Anthony Joshua or Fabio Wardley.
