Jimmy Butler’s perfect reaction to Steve Kerr’s ejection vs. Clippers

INGLEWOOD, CA — The Golden State Warriors came into Monday night’s game against the LA Clippers having won six of their last eight games and climbing to a 19-17 record in the process. And while Steve Kerr’s ejection from Monday night’s game was less than ideal, star forward Jimmy Butler sees it as a positive for his team.

Butler finished Monday night’s loss against the Clippers with 24 points, six rebounds, two assists, and four steals. His game-winning baseline fadeaway jumpshot fell short at the buzzer, resulting in a 103-102 Clippers victory.

Tensions flared in the fourth quarter of the loss when Warriors head coach Steve Kerr received two technical fouls for vehemently disagreeing with an uncalled goaltend on Gary Payton II’s layup attempt.

Kerr was ejected and did not speak to members of the media after the game. Instead, assistant coach Terry Stotts spoke albeit just to save Kerr’s money going after the officials.

In his postgame press conference, however, Butler refused to place this loss on the shoulders of the officials and the missed goaltending call.

“I’m not gonna lie to you, I really don’t pay too much attention to the refs,” Butler said postgame. “I think they’ve got a tough job to do to be able to tell the difference between continuation, goaltend, all of that. I just think we don’t need to get into the nitty-gritty of the referees.”

The Warriors shot 15 more shot attempts and six more free throws than the Clippers on the night, but Golden State still remained aggressive and continued to attack the basket.

Butler was asked after the game if he’d ever seen Steve Kerr irate like he was in the game.

“I haven’t,” Butler responded. “You see it sometimes on the internet, but that was the first time I got to see it face to face. But like I always tell you, I like confrontation when motherfu**ers start yelling, so that’s definitely good.”

Needless to say, any kind of fire shown from his team is considered a positive for Butler, at least until his team is 100 percent healthy.

The Warriors will now finally return home for a stretch where they play eight straight games at home and don’t leave San Francisco until January 21st.
