Jean-Philippe Mateta hands Crystal Palace major blow as seven-time European champions eye move for striker
Jean-Philippe Mateta is interested in a move to Serie A, talkSPORT understands.
The Frenchman is one of the star players at Crystal Palace and was part of their FA Cup winning-side last season.

However, his current deal expires in the summer of 2027 and he is yet to agree new terms at Selhurst Park.
Mateta is set to assess his options once the 2026 World Cup has concluded next summer.
He could be part of the France squad for the tournament having scored two goals in his first three appearances this year.
Amid his uncertain future at Palace, it’s understood that Mateta would be keen on moving to the Italian top flight.
AC Milan are understood to be interested in the 28-year-old striker.
They are currently top of the Serie A table and won their 19th league title in 2022.
Santiago Gimenez, Rafael Leao and Christopher Nkunku are their current forward options at San Siro.
Mateta’s season so far
Mateta netted his seventh Premier League goal of the campaign in their 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.
He sits on nine for the season in all competitions, which includes a goal in the Community Shield win over Liverpool in August.
The striker is the club’s leading scorer, although Ismaila Sarr is close behind him on eight goals.

Mateta has featured in all of their 22 fixtures, and started in all but one of them.
Double blow for Palace?
Mateta could be one of two huge losses for Palace despite their recent success.
Marc Guehi looks set to leave next summer, as manager Oliver Glasner revealed this will be his last season.
The centre-back and club captain was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in the last transfer window.
However, a move fell through on deadline day, and his exit video was leaked on social media.
Guehi has entered the final year of his deal at Palace, and could therefore leave for free at the end of the season.
