Jamie O’Hara reveals what happened behind the scenes before Sports Bar walk off over Tottenham Hotspur

It was the most talked about moment in the history of the Sports Bar – and there’s been a few noteworthy contenders over the years.

Last Thursday’s episode was officially the most viral episode of the nightly talkSPORT show, with over ten million views.

That meant there was something to smile about at the end of the evening for ex-Spurs player and presenter Jamie O’Hara after watching his side slip to a 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.

With O’Hara’s patience visibly thin and broadcast colleague Jason Cundy licking his lips and ready to bask in Spurs’ dismal plight, there was no real surprise at the fireworks that followed.

Chelsea fan and former player Cundy, dressed in an Ange Postecoglou mask and clown outfit, didn’t wait long to get stuck into O’Hara but it quickly became all too much.

O’Hara screamed ‘shut up’ back at his co-host in response to Cundy asking him if Spurs are going to get relegated.

An angry O’Hara added: “Jase, you know I’ve been doing this show with you for a long time? This might be the first time I actually have it out with you.”

He then briefly stormed out of the studio, telling Cundy: “It’s pointless doing a show with you.”

Clips from the show proved hugely popular across social media platforms, garnering the Sports Bar’s largest viewership figures.

On Monday, the pair were back on air together for the first time since O’Hara’s meltdown and kicked off the show by addressing the elephant in the room.

Reflecting on the viral clips, O’Hara: “That went everywhere.”

He then addressed the outburst with Cundy saying: “I was actually fuming and I meant that, I meant every part of that because you were actually shocked. You were actually taken aback by it.

O’Hara was a much calmer version of himself on Monday’s Sports Bar

“I said it with such anger and I looked at you and you’ve got an Ange mask on!

“How can I be angry when I’m looking at you and you’ve got that stupid mask on?

“I sat there and this guy was just being an absolute wally, I had to just deal with it, take it.

“People say ‘oh it’s all for the show’ genuinely, I hated you at that moment. I hated you so much.”

However, four days later Cundy was still in tease mode and gave a cheeky response to a calmer O’Hara.

“I thought you dealt with it well, Jamie,” Cundy said before repeating his question from the previous week.

“Are you staying up, are you going down? Would it be easier if I changed the question?”

But there was no such repeat with O’Hara able to take Cundy’s jibe on the chin.

There can be no promises that O’Hara won’t have another rant in him before the end of the season with Spurs locked in a tense relegation battle.

Igor Tudor’s men have nine games to avoid dropping into the Championship starting with a trip to Liverpool on Sunday.
