Jacob Misiorowski drops wild admission after dominating Phillies

Jacob Misiorowski was his usual dominant self on the mound on Friday. He pitched a nine-inning shutout with 15 strikeouts as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 6-0. He also made history by throwing the fastest pitch the game has ever seen, 104.5 mph.

However, Misiorowski was very reflective after the game, per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.

“To be honest, the first few innings, I feel like I didn’t have it all that well,” he said. “I was just hoping they would swing. They were hacking away, so that helped a lot.”

Nevertheless, Misiorowski knew his velocity was there.

“I think I was just trying to push it a little bit to feel something,” Misiorowski said. “It just started coming out.”

Despite being off as he saw it, he felt it from the 5th inning onward.

“Probably the 5th, it started feeling good,” he said.

Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy compared Misirowski to Forrest Gump for being young, irreverent, and breathtaking.

Since coming into the league last year, Misisrowski has blown everyone away, literally and figuratively. His velocity, command, and approach are unmatched in the current baseball landscape, and he is only 24 years old.

Plus, he has one of the meanest fastballs, combined with a nasty slider and blistering curveball.

Misisrowski remains strong, with an 8-2 record, 1.34 ERA, and 131 strikeouts. It’s not a surprise that he is a frontrunner for the NL Cy Young Award.

The Brewers are now 42-25 and remain in the first place in the National League Central Division. They have a five-game lead over the second-place St. Louis Cardinals.
