Jackson Holliday’s injury update is huge for Orioles
Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday is working his way back from a hand injury. He previously started a rehab assignment, but it came to a stop after Holliday suffered an injury scare during a game. Holliday avoided a significant injury setback though, and now he is preparing to begin a new rehab assignment soon.
“Jackson Holliday expects to begin another rehab assignment next week. He’s been working out at Camden Yards,” Roch Kubatko reported.
If no setbacks occur, Holliday could return to the Orioles fairly soon. He will need a few rehab games before joining the ball club, but the fact that he is already set to start another rehab assignment is encouraging.
Holliday, a 22-year-old second baseman, has yet to appear in a game in 2026. He suffered the hand injury before the season. In 2025, Holliday slashed .242/.314/.375 across 149 games played. Holliday added 17 home runs and 17 stolen bases as well.
The Orioles will continue to monitor and provide updates on Jackson Holliday’s injury status as they are made available.
Baltimore, meanwhile, has had a mediocre start to the ’26 campaign. The ball club is 14-15 overall and in third place in the American League East standings. Nevertheless, this Orioles team could certainly compete for a postseason spot this year, especially once Holliday returns from injury.
The Orioles’ game against the Houston Astros was postponed on Wednesday due to weather. The teams will play a double-header on Thursday, with the first contest scheduled for 12:35 PM EST and the second game scheduled for 4:05 PM EST.
