Is Anthony Edwards playing tonight? Timberwolves vs. Nuggets 2026 NBA Playoffs Game 6 injury report
The Minnesota Timberwolves have a chance to close out the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night. This time, they’ll be back at home in front of their raucous fans for a pivotal Game 6 that send them to the second round of the NBA playoffs.
The Wolves lost Game 5 in Denver, and had to do it without the services of Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo. It was a 125-113 Denver victory that saw Nikola Jokic record a monster triple-double with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 16 assists.
With Edwards missing last game and the Timberwolves desperately needing him to return, optimistic Wolves fans are asking: Is Anthony Edwards playing tonight vs. Nuggets?
Here’s everything we know about Anthony Edwards’ injury status for tonight’s game vs. the Nuggets.
Anthony Edwards’ injury status vs. the Nuggets
Edwards missed Game 5 against the Denver Nuggets after suffering a bone bruise in his left knee in Game 4. His status is unchanged for Game 6. The team released their injury report on Wednesday night, and Anthony Edwards is listed as, “OUT,” for Game 6 against the Nuggets due to a left knee bone bruise.
Edwards went up for a block at the rim against Cam Johnson and hyperextended his leg on a gruesome way on the landing. He immediately went down grabbing his knee in pain and was helped off the floor to the Timberwolves locker room by his teammates.

The team put out an injury update on their star earlier the week, saying that the results of an MRI conducted on Edwards knee revealed a left knee hyperextension injury and bone bruise. Minnesota also says that Edwards will be considered week-to-week, and further updates of his progress will be provided when available.
Drafted in 2020, Edwards has turned into a phenomenal star who embraces the bright lights. He had a career year during the 2025-26 regular season, averaging 28.8 points to go along with his 5.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
If he is to return at some point this postseason, it will have to be in the second round against the San Antonio Spurs as anything in the first round seems highly unlikely. So when it comes to the question of if Anthony Edwards is playing tonight vs. Nuggets, the answer is no, he is not.
