IPL 2026: Punjab Kings’ strongest predicted XI against Lucknow Super Giants
Punjab Kings (PBKS) are the only undefeated team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 so far. Shreyas Iyer and Co. will look to continue their near-flawless campaign when they lock horns with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Sunday, April 19, at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.
While PBKS have won four out of their five games in IPL 2026, LSG have two wins and three defeats to show for their efforts.
Here is the strongest, most probable XI for the Punjab Kings for Match 29 vs LSG:
Top Order: Prabhsimran Singh (WK), Priyansh Arya, Cooper Connolly
Prabhsimran Singh will be high on confidence after scoring a match-winning 80 off 39 balls in the last game against the Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, his opening partner Priyansh Arya has also given his team some flying starts this season. The southpaw is striking at 245.84. Cooper Connolly has also done well, scoring 136 runs in four innings at an average of 45.33 and a strike rate of 151.12.
Middle Order: Shreyas Iyer (C), Marcus Stoinis, Shashank Singh, Marco Jansen
Shreyas Iyer has led his team from the front once again. In four innings, he has amassed 203 runs at an average of 67.67 and a strike rate of 187.97. Marcus Stoinis hasn't had much of an opportunity with bat and ball this season. However, a player of his stature would be raring to make an impact. Shashank Singh has played the finisher's role to perfection in the last few seasons but this time, he has become the man with the golden arm for Punjab, picking up some important wickets. Marco Jansen has batted only once, and with the ball, he has picked up three wickets in four innings.
Bowlers: Xavier Bartlett, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal
Xavier Bartlett has taken four wickets in five matches and been excellent on the field. He is also a decent batter down the order. Vijaykumar Vyshak has impressed cricket enthusiasts with his variations. He has taken five wickets in four innings at an economy rate of 10.85. However, he has had to bowl the difficult overs, so the high economy rate is understandable. Arshdeep Singh managed to take only two wickets in the first four games, but bounced back commendably in the last match against Mumbai Indians. The left-arm seamer bagged a match-winning three-for against a strong batting lineup. Yuzvendra Chahal has blown hot and cold this season. In four innings, he has three wickets to his name at an economy rate of 9.77.
PBKS predicted XI for Match 29 vs LSG:
Prabhsimran Singh (WK), Priyansh Arya, Cooper Connolly, Shreyas Iyer (C), Shashank Singh, Marcus Stoinis, Marco Jansen, Xavier Bartlett, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal
Impact Player: Nehal Wadhera
