Inter vs Juventus predictions and betting tips – Massive Derby d’Italia
Inter are not getting carried away, but it is increasingly difficult to envisage any other team winning the Serie A title this season. The Nerazzurri are eight points clear at the summit of the standings going into the weekend.
Juventus are potentially awkward opponents, though, and they would love to harm their rivals’ chances. Which way will this one go?

Inter vs Juventus predictions
Inter are on the march. Before Christmas, the Serie A title race looked to contain at least four horses. Now it is in danger of becoming a procession.
Inter lead the chasing pack by eight points following a 5-0 thrashing of Sassuolo last weekend. Milan, the team closest to top spot, have a game in hand, so it is not a foregone conclusion just yet.
However, when you watch Inter play it is obvious they are the best team in the division. Their last eight matches in all competitions have produced seven wins, with the exception being a Champions League loss to Arsenal, perhaps the best team in Europe right now.
In Serie A itself, Inter have taken 34 points from the last 36 on offer. Needless to say, no one else in the league has been able to match that sort of pace.
The data supports the eye test. Inter have scored the most goals in Serie A and have conceded the second-fewest, while their +38 goal difference is vastly superior to that of even their closest competitors. Inter also lead the way for expected goals and are level with Juventus for expected goals against.
All this is impressive given this was thought to be a transitional season for Inter. True, the squad that reached last season’s Champions League final has broadly remained intact, but many felt the exit of manager Simone Inzaghi would set Inter back in the short term.
Christian Chivu’s lack of experience worried some when he was chosen as Inzaghi’s successor. Although he had worked extensively with Inter’s youth teams, he had only been a manager at senior level for just over three months when the Nerazzurri plucked him from Parma last summer.
At the other end of the experience spectrum is Luciano Spalletti, who has given Juventus renewed belief in recent months. The 66-year-old replaced Igor Tudor at the end of October, since when he has made Juventus a stronger side in all departments.
Had they appointed Spalletti sooner, Juventus might even be in the scudetto conversation right now. As it is, they trail Inter by 12 points going into the Derby d’Italia, so even a victory at San Siro would not be enough to put them in contention – barring an unforeseen Inter collapse, of course.
Inter vs Juventus betting tips
Old rivals Inter and Juventus are ready to renew hostilities on Valentine’s Day.
Inter too strong
There is no doubt that Juventus have improved hugely under the leadership of Spalletti.
The former Napoli head coach has made Juve a more effective team in attack without compromising their traditional defensive strengths.
A year from now, the Bianconeri will hope to be able to go toe to toe with any other team in Italy across a 38-game campaign.
Right now, though, they are not quite at Inter’s level and we are likely to see evidence of that on Sunday.
With home advantage behind them, Chivu’s men can move on to 20 wins in 2025/26.

Juventus should score
While we fancy Inter to collect maximum points this weekend, a clean sheet may well elude them.
The league leaders have registered their fair share of shut-outs this term, but they have often struggled to do so in the biggest matches.
Indeed, Inter have conceded against each of Juventus (four times away from home), Napoli (five goals across two games) and Milan, the other three teams in the top four.
Juventus, for their part, have scored no fewer than 14 goals in their last five matches, so Inter’s defence will be tested here.

Thuram involved again
Marcus Thuram was one of five Inter players to get his name on the scoresheet in the 5-0 triumph over Sassuolo last time out.
The France international was sidelined for a few weeks earlier in the season, but he has made up for lost time since returning to the Inter team in November.
Thuram’s strike last weekend moved him onto 12 goals in all competitions, seven of which have come in Serie A.
Only six players can better that tally, and five of those have played more games than Thuram.
The 28-year-old has chipped in with three league assists too, so he has a big role to play against Juventus.
