Injured WWE star Sheamus provides update on ‘difficult’ shoulder injury that blindsided him
It has not been an easy road to recovery for WWE Superstar Sheamus, who has been dealing with an injury for the last few months.
Speaking to OTB Football (via Fightful), he acknowledged that this injury “has been difficult,” and he was blindsided when it popped up, saying, “It kind of came out of nowhere.”
He did concede that he noticed as early as last summer during Clash in Paris. Sheamus recalled his shoulder “bothering” him. Initially, he believed he “tore it,” and receiving shots helped fix the problem temporarily. He continued wrestling for a few months after Clash in Paris, but he eventually needed surgery.
“But ultimately it was just a matter of time before it stopped moving on me. I tried to push through it to the point where I couldn’t move my arms. I had surgery on December 30. Ever since then, I’ve been rehabbing.”
Looking ahead, Sheamus cannot wait to get back in the ring, saying he has “cabin fever.” Hopefully, he’s able to return sooner rather than later.
When will Sheamus return to WWE from his injury?

While Sheamus didn’t disclose when he was going to return to WWE in the interview, it will hopefully be soon. His last match was a six-man tag team match against Judgment Day’s Finn Bálor, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh. He teamed up with John Cena and Rey Mysterio in the match.
His injury meant that Sheamus had to forfeit his place in the Last Time is Now tournament, which was held to determine Cena’s last opponent. He defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in the first round, but wouldn’t compete in it again.
Sheamus has been with WWE for a long time, with his main roster debut coming in 2009. He has won several titles, including the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, and the United States Championship. However, he still has unfinished business with the Intercontinental Championship, which is currently held by Penta. It’s the lone title he needs to win to become a Grand Slam Champion.
