Hurricanes’ explosive offense in Stanley Cup Final joins incredibly exclusive club

History is closer than ever, as the Carolina Hurricanes need one more win to secure their second Stanley Cup Final in history. Much of their success has been due to an offense that has scored four goals in each game of the Stanley Cup. This offense is so exclusive that it has joined an exclusive group, according to ESPN Insights.

“The only other team to do so was the 1973 Montreal Canadiens,” ESPN Insights wrote on X.

Led by Jordan Staal, the Canes continued their offensive outburst. When things got off to a rocky start, the Canes tied the game, then added two more goals in the second period. As the Hurricanes prepare to close out the series, their offense has remained consistent. When they trailed 4-0 in Game 3, they battled back and tied it to force overtime. Likewise, the Canes managed the pace in Game 4, finding ways to score.

The momentum changed when goalie Brandon Bussi took over, and the Hurricanes have gone 2-0 since he became a starter. Moreover, he has stopped 65 of the 71 shots he has faced in this series with a .908 save percentage. Because the Canes have not had to worry about shaky goaltending, the offense has gained more confidence.

With the Vegas Golden Knights struggling in net, the Canes have figured out how to score on Carter Hart. When the series started, Hart was having a great playoffs. But that has gone south, and the Hurricanes have continued to surge, and the offense has found ways to score when they needed to. Because of that, they are one win away from winning the Stanley Cup.
