Horse racing tips Doncaster: Lincoln Handicap selections
Doncaster stages an ultra competitive eight-race card on Saturday, with the historic Lincoln Handicap, first run in 1853, taking centre stage.
However, Kempton and the Curragh host quality Flat meetings of their own, the Roseberry Handicap and the Listed Snowdrop Stakes the principal races from the Sunbury venue, whilst the Listed Gladness Stakes is the highlight of a bumper card from Irish track.
Elsewhere, there’s a pair of jump cards from Stratford and Uttoxeter and an evening all-weather card from Southwell.
Our expert, Colm Doyle, has a trio of selections from across Saturday’s cards in Britain and Ireland.

Saturday horse racing tips
- 2.42 Kempton – Whitcombe Rockstar @ 15/2
- 2.57 Doncaster – Qirat @ 4/1
- 3.05 Curragh – Albert Einstein @ 8/11
2.42 Kempton – Whitcombe Rockstar @ 15/2
The Roseberry Handicap usually takes plenty of winning and Saturday’s renewal looks no exception.
However, with talkSPORT Bet offering each-way betting on the first four home, it’s hard to get away from Kieran Burke’s Whitcombe Rockstar, who has a real love affair with Kempton.
The seven-year-old has won seven times from only 12 appearances at the Sunbury track and has rarely been in better form, the son of Footstepsinthesand having won off marks of 86 and 88 here this year.
He’s now up to 93, but he’s run to Racing Post Ratings in excess of that figure the last twice and represents solid value in the market with those four places to play for.
2.57 Doncaster – Qirat @ 4/1
The Ralph Beckett-trained Qirat went down in history as the longest priced Group 1 winner in Europe when making all in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood at odds of 150-1 last summer (a record that was broken by Richard Fahey’s 200-1 shot Powerful Glory at Ascot in October) and, although unable to add to that shock victory in subsequent outings, he continued to perform at a high level in defeat and looks overpriced at 4-1 ahead of his seasonal return in the Listed Doncaster Mile.
The five-year-old has 4lb to find with the re-opposing Docklands on official figures, but he was almost five lengths ahead of that rival when scoring at Goodwood in late July and is a more frequent winner than Harry Eustace’s representative. This small field should suit and he’s got a good record when fresh, another positive on this first outing of 2026.
3.05 Curragh – Albert Einstein @ 8/11
Aidan O’Brien’s Albert Einstein is set for his eagerly awaited return to action in the feature Listed Gladness Stakes at the Curragh, the son of Wootton Basset currently heading the betting for the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket in a little over four weeks’ time.
The three-year-old justified odds-on favouritism in both his two juvenile outings last term, overcoming inexperience to win a 6f Naas maiden in mid May before landing the Group 3 Marble Hill Stakes at this track a fortnight later.
Training setbacks caused him to miss the remainder of the campaign, but O’Brien has repeatedly spoken about him in glowing terms and he’s reportedly been pleasing in his recent homework.
More will be needed now that he goes up against his elders, but he’s getting weight and could simply outclass his rivals if he’s to prove as good as his trainer believes.
