Greg Olsen names one NFL job he would quit FOX role for after Tom Brady arrival cost him $20million
The Buffalo Bills’ head coaching vacancy might be the most coveted position in decades.
Josh Allen, James Cook III and Khalil Shakir all await the news of their next head coach following Sean McDermott’s shocking departure.

The dismissal of McDermott came just days after the Denver Broncos defeated them in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs.
McDermott is the second-winningest coach in franchise history, but continual postseason heartbreak left owner Terry Pegula claiming there was no choice but to part ways.
The next head coach will inherit one of the best and most complete teams in the NFL, – not to mention the reigning MVP Josh Allen, who took to the podium in tears on Sunday night.
The feeling from the top in Buffalo is the need for an extra voice to push them over the top.
“I’ve had head coaches text me and say ‘hey would you ever consider it if we had a spot?,” Olsen told Travis & Jason Kelce on the latest New Heights Podcast.
“I have always been flattered, but you tell me I can be a head coach, then that is a different story.
“The idea of coaching is something I love, and as fun as TV is, I love it, and my plan is to do it for 30 years.
“Buffalo would be very appealing, because every coach wants a quarterback. Every coach feels it’s the hardest position to get, and once I have one, I can put all of my focus everywhere else.”
This is not the first time Olsen has expressed his interest in a coaching or executive role for one of the 32 NFL teams.
In 2021, on a broadcast with Peter Schrager, he was asked whether he would be interested in joining an organisation in a front office role.

The former tight end not only said he would do it, but he thinks he would be successful at it.
He was also vocal about his desire for the Chicago Bears to consider him for either a front office or coaching role.
“You guys know, as fun as gameday is in the booth and on set and in the studio, it’s just different,” added Olsen.
“You’re watching these guys prepare for the game, you’re watching warm-ups, you’re watching the thrill of victory and the bone-crushing losses, the locker room, the guys, the relationships, the hard times, you’re never going to feel that.
“What we do on TV is really close to it from a competitive standpoint, but coaching will be closer to the action because you are truly living and dying and impacting the game.
“If I was ever considered for a Head Coach job, it is something I would definitely consider, but I don’t sit here pursuing that.

“I like doing the TV stuff, it keeps me involved in the game a lot.”
Olsen’s name has been synonymous with success in the NFL over the past two decades, first as a standout tight end for the Bears, Carolina Panthers, and Seattle Seahawks.
Secondly, as a fan-favourite in FOX’s broadcast booth following his retirement in 2021, as their number one analyst.
But tensions have reportedly risen since the network handed Tom Brady a mammoth $375 million contract to become the number one analyst, demoting Olsen to number two.
That move saw Olsen’s contract drop from $10million a year to $3million – and that contract reportedly has just one more season to run.
It’s sure to prompt a scramble for his services from a host of networks.
While Olsen has said he is not actively pursuing a coaching role, he will be an interesting wildcard name to watch as the remaining teams rush to find their new leader.
