Forgotten Man City man could win seventh medal despite playing just 32 games in four years
Kalvin Phillips is eligible for a Carabao Cup winners’ medal despite playing just seven minutes for Manchester City this season.
The midfielder is currently on loan at Championship side Sheffield United until the end of the season.

However, he could be credited with a seventh trophy in four years at City after their triumph on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola’s side beat Arsenal 2-0 at Wembley Stadium to clinch their latest piece of silverware.
All 20 members of their matchday squad for the match received medals during the trophy presentation.
EFL rules add that a further 10 medals will also be given to the club for them to distribute.
Any player who has featured in the competition for City this season, including Phillips, is eligible to receive one.
Regarding the awarding of medals, EFL rule 20.2 states: “In addition to the Cup, the Management Committee shall present thirty souvenirs to the winning Club in the Final Tie; and thirty souvenirs to the losing Club in the Final Tie.
“Additional souvenirs may be presented with the consent of the Management Committee but shall be at the cost of the requesting Club.”
As a result, Phillips qualifies for a medal after his seven-minute cameo against Huddersfield Town in the third round back in September.
That appearance was his most recent for City as well as being just the 32nd since he signed from Leeds United in 2022.
Since penning a six-year deal at the Etihad Stadium, Phillips has had subsequent loan spells at West Ham United and Ipswich Town.

However, he has also won six major trophies with two Premier League titles, the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Club World Cup and FA Cup to his name.
Phillips was also part of the matchday squad when City won the Community Shield at the start of last season.
Who can receive a Carabao Cup winners’ medal?
The 30-year-old is now set to add the Carabao Cup to his trophy cabinet after his parent club’s latest success.
Josko Gvardiol, Ruben Dias, Rico Lewis and Max Alleyne are all also eligible for a winners’ medal despite not featuring against Arsenal.
Phillips’ fellow loanee Divine Mukasa, who joined Leicester City in February, has also played in the Carabao Cup this season.
Youngsters Charlie Gray, Jaden Heskey and Reigan Heskey could too receive a winners’ medal for their involvement earlier in the competition.

However, Marc Guehi is not eligible after signing from Crystal Palace after the semi-final first leg against Newcastle United.
His late arrival in the January transfer window saw the defender cup-tied for both the semi-final second leg and the final.
