Manny Pacquiao’s son is being lined up to feature on the undercard of his father’s rematch with Floyd Mayweather.

Now 11 years on, the pair will do battle again despite being way beyond the peak of their physical powers.

It promises to be once again be one of the biggest events ever live on Netflix on September 19 from Las Vegas’ Sphere.

Mayweather’s protege Curmel Moton is already expected to land a spot on the card.

And Jas Mathur, a vital cog in putting the event together, expects the best of boxing’s next generation of talent to be stepping under the bright lights.

He told World Boxing News: “The plan for the undercard is to make it meaningful and forward-looking.

“This isn’t just about one historic main event, it’s about showcasing the future of boxing.

“We want generational storytelling on the card, blending established names, emerging contenders, and rising young stars who represent the next era of the sport.

“We have fighters like Manny Pacquiao Jr. (Jimuel) from Manny Pacquiao Promotions and Curmel Moton from Mayweather Promotions who embody that legacy-meets-future dynamic.

“Those are the kinds of athletes we’re looking to spotlight.

“On September 19, with a global platform of this scale, we intend to build the next generation of stars while honoring the legends who paved the way.”

Jimuel Pacquiao, son of the Filipino legend, has fought just once as a professional which saw him fight to a majority draw with Brendan Lally last November.

He is expected to first return on April 3 in California, with a win likely to earn his place on the historic bill.

How Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2 happened

Much like the first fight, it always seemed like a second fight would never happen particularly given the pair hadn’t fought competitively for many years.

But Pacquiao first returned in a world title shot against Mario Barrios last July, which saw him put on a brave display but be held to a controversial draw.

Mayweather has only fought in exhibitions and has had talks over the sequel, but wasn’t previously willing to risk his professional record.

But now the American decided to reverse his decision to hang up his gloves and is willing to risk his perfect 50-0 record.
