Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois offered fight with top ten contender as options for returns grow

Filip Hrgovic is keen on a fight with either Daniel Dubois or Fabio Wardley, as the pair search for their next opponent.

Both Wardley and Dubois are looking for their next opponent, with announcements expected imminently, as Frank Warren told talkSPORT.

Wardley and Dubois are expected to fight on separate bills, and are targeting different opponents

The pair are understood to be looking for separate options despite sharing mutual interest in facing each other immediately.

Wardley was crowned WBO world heavyweight champion after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt, and is expected to make his first title defence in April.

Meanwhile, Dubois has not fought since losing his rematch to Usyk last July, but is keen to thrust his name back into world title contention in 2026.

Hrgovic, who hasn’t stepped in the ring himself since claiming unanimous decision victory over David Adeleye in August, is ranked well with many of the governing bodies.

And the Croatian giant hopes to face Wardley with a world title on the line, but is open to meeting Dubois for a second time.

In a video uploaded to Instagram, he said: “I hope I’ll be in the ring soon. There are a few very good options.

“The best option for me would be to face Fabio Wardley for the WBO belt, and I hope that happens next.

“But he has a voluntary defence, so we will see who he’s gonna choose.

“Also I would like to face Agit Kabayel in Germany it will be a great fight big fight.

“He has got a big following here and there’s a lot of Croatians in Germany, so it would be a great fight.

“Also, there’s the option to face Daniel Dubois in a rematch.

“Everyone knows that I was sick and injured before the fight, so I wasn’t at my best level. So I would welcome that fight as well.

“We’ll see what happen in the next few weeks, but I’m always open for all good fights.”

While the stars of boxing’s glamour division prepare for an explosive 2026, Hrgovic is certainly hoping for a chance to nail down a maiden shot at world glory.

What do Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois have planned for 2026?

Neither man has announced their first opponent of the new year yet, but news is expected in the coming days.

Ever since Wardley was upgraded to the WBO champion, he has become a prime target for most heavyweight contenders.

Several call-outs have been issued, but whoever Wardley faces, he will hope to hold on to his belt to set up a bout with Tyson Fury later in the year.

Elsewhere, Dubois is likely to take on a top-20-ranked contender upon his return to get his name firmly back into the mix.

He previously was called for an IBF world title eliminator with Frank Sanchez, but turned down the opportunity.
