F1 25 2026 Season Pack Review – A Fun, Fresh, & Unique DLC
In This EA Sports F1 25 2026 Season Pack DLC Review, we take a look at Codemasters’ newest expansion for their latest Formula 1 Racing game. Instead of releasing a brand new F1 game, EA Sports and Codemasters have decided to release a DLC pack for the 2026 season. This is a separate experience from the base 2025 video game, meaning you can enjoy the best of both worlds. But what exactly does this expansion entail, and is it worth spending your hard-earned cash on?

F1 25 2026 Season Pack Review – Gameplay
In terms of content, the new F1 25 2026 Season Pack brings fully updated teams and rosters from the 2026 season to the game. This includes new teams like Cadillac and Audi Revolut. Additionally, this expansion updates the rosters, reflecting the real life teams and drivers of the current season.
Overall, you can play the following modes in the 2026 Season Pack:
- Driver Career
- My Team
- Grand Prix
- Time Trial
- Split Screen
- Pro Challenges
- Unranked Multiplayer
- LAN
Whenever you select a car or start a new career, you’ll see the option to select the 2026 cars.
In terms of Gameplay the F1 2026 Season Pack plays and feels like the classic, fun experience we’ve come to expect from developer Codemasters. But this DLC isn’t just a roster or cosmetic update. There are actual gameplay improvements that you may want to make note of.
Firstly, the most impactful change to gameplay for me was the new Overtake mode. It essentially gives your car a huge boost for Overtaking when within 1 second of the driver ahead at the detection line. With DRS now gone in 2026, the new Overtake mode becomes an invaluable tool to getting ahead of your opponents.
You still have access to your Standard ERS modes. Furthermore, the game offers you various assist options for both the ERS and Overtake management. So like the base game, you have plenty of control.
There’s another new feature called Active Aerodynamics. In general, it helps players gain faster acceleration in straight-lines. Overall, you can adjust the angles of front and rear wings while driving on track to match the angles of each corner.
It starts on Cornering Mode by default. This keeps the wing angles high to help with downforce and grip. It engages when turning, braking, lifting off throttle, or leaving a Straight Line Zone.
Additionally, there’s also Straight Line Mode, putting your wings in a low and flat angle. This reduces downforce and drag to improve acceleration on the straights. However, you can only use it in specific zones in the track. You can switch between each mode using the Triangle/Y button, or use an Assist to change it for you.
Overall, both gameplay changes actually felt substantial to the experience. The new Overtake is a lot of fun, especially thanks to the new level of strategy that come with managing your battery. It feels rewarding to save your battery for those big moments when you can overtake.
Active Aerodynamics is also a great addition, though it can only really be felt on tracks with more straights. Circuits like Monaco make it very hard to take advantage of both of these new features. But overall, these are both fun new features.
Speaking of new circuits, the new MADRING Circuit is a blast to drive around in. The first thing I did when booting up the new expansion was testing the new circuit, as well as the new car from Audi. It feels great to ride around this new circuit before the pros do this September. The MADRING Circuit features a good blend of turns with two long straight-aways that really let you take advantage of the new features.
Additionally, driving around with both the the Audi and Cadillac vehicles felt fun. And being able to drive as anyone from these teams in Driver Career is a really cool detail.
Each track also received a little bit of love this year. Not too much really changed since last year, but the DLC still made sure to update sponsor boards. More importantly, they added detection points for Overtake and Active Aero to compensate for the new mechanics.
So to round it all up, the F1 2026 Season Pack adds new cars, a new circuit, updated rosters and updated pre-existing circuits, new gameplay mechanics, and the ability to race with 2026 cars in all the major modes.
The only slight downside to all of this is that all 2025 and 2026 modes aren’t interconnected. You can’t bring your 2025 Driver Career Save and transfer it over to the 2026 season pack. I can understand that this was probably difficult to implement, though, so it’s not the worst thing. But this also means that if you want to drive on the new MADRING Circuit in Career, you need to start a brand new save.
To Codemasters’ defense, most players diving back into the DLC maybe haven’t played their F1 25 Career save in some time. So most people may want to restart anyway. I mean, we would have done that anyway if F1 26 came out instead of this DLC. So it’s totally understandable.
But the one major downside to the new Season Pack is the absence of Co-Op & Challenge Career. the developers unfortunately did not include the modes so their focus could be on “the changes that would have the biggest impact on the new 2026 gameplay experience”. So things like regulations, the new circuit, and new teams took precedence.
While I can understand these changes being top priority, I still think it’s a shame we didn’t receive Co-Op Career. Some of the best moments when playing a game is when you play with your friends. You can still play split-screen, but you’re now unable to enjoy a career with a buddy.
I don’t play online modes too often, but you may also be disappointed to find out that the new 2026 cars, at launch, are locked out of F1 World. Because of the different regulations and gameplay mechanics, Codemasters was unable to integrate the two together.
Nevertheless, that doesn’t take away the fun I did had with the new DLC. The modes that I usually play (My Team & Driver Career) are fully playable with 2026 cars and drivers. If you’re someone who prefers to play solo, the absence of Co-Op Career and F1 World from the expansion may seem trivial.
Furthermore, you still have access to F1 World and all the other modes in the base game. And if you’re someone who purchased the 2026 Season Edition, you’ll have access to everything and for a solid price, too.
And above all, the gameplay of F1 25 still feels fun. The controls feel great, and speaking of control, there’s so many options for you to create the experience you want. From difficulty levels, to assists, to more realistic and challenging settings, you can really play F1 any way you want.
Therefore, despite some of the restrictions and limitations, the F1 25 2026 Season Pack still offers a fun and rewarding experience for a fair price. Additionally, it hopefully means that Codemasters now has more time to focus on F1 27.
Graphics & Audio – F1 25 2026 Season Pack Review
As an expansion of F1 25, the 2026 Season Pack looks no different from the main game for the most part. If you read our F1 25 review, you know that we’re actually quite fond of the graphics, and that the game looks spectacular. Graphics aren’t the most important aspect of a video game for us, but the game still sure does look great.
But just because there’s no graphical upgrade doesn’t mean we can’t talk about the visuals. The new MADRING Circuit has been faithfully recreated, and all the cars and track updates help the game look authentic.
There’s not much to say about the audio, as the game pretty much sounds the same as it did las
t year. But again, if you read our F1 25 review, you’ll see that we were pleased with the audio just as much as the graphics.
Verdict: Is The F1 2025 2026 Season DLC Pack Worth Your Time & Money?
Overall, the F1 2025 2026 Season DLC Pack isn’t the perfect DLC, but it does something a lot of people have been asking for with sports video games. Instead of having to pay 70 dollars for a brand new sports game annually, you can just buy what is essentially a roster update with extra content. Furthermore, if you didn’t purchase F1 25, you can get it along with the new DLC with the F1 25 2026 Season Edition.
In terms of Gameplay, it feels like the classic experience we’ve come to expect from the series. But the new Overtake mode creates more opportunity for some epic moments on the track. And the new Active Aerodynamic system feels fun without compromising the gameplay.
But there are limitations. First and foremost, the DLC doesn’t include Co-Op Career for the 2026 modes. This is a major bummer for those looking to play with their friends.
Another downside is that there’s no interconnectedness between the 2025 and 2026 modes. So if you started a career with 2025 cars and wanted to continue it with the 2026 season pack, you’re unfortunately out of luck. But as we mentioned before, this really isn’t the worst thing, and most players returning to the game may even start a new career anyway.
Furthermore, the pros of this DLC still seem to outweigh the cons. In terms of content you get new gameplay mechanics, updated rosters and teams, a brand new circuit, and more.
In the end, I think the F1 25 2026 Season Pack is a great addition for die-hard fans of the series. It’s a much more affordable alternative than having to a buy a brand new F1 game. Furthermore, if you didn’t own F1 25 already, the 2026 Season Edition makes for a great way to own everything all at once.
The best part about the DLC is that it gives players all-new content without having to pay for a full priced video game. Additionally, it should hopefully give Codemasters more time needed to make very significant changes in the next installment. If everything works out, Codemasters may be setting a precedent on sports video game development for the future. And if so, I’d be all for it.
Score: 8.5/10
