Ex-Spurs star Eric Dier offered surprise return to Premier League
Eric Dier has been handed a Premier League lifeline as the defender has been offered to West Ham United, talkSPORT understands.
Should the Hammers choose to pursue a move for Dier, it would mark a reunion between him and Nuno Espirito Santo.

The pair worked together during Nuno’s 17-game stint in charge of Tottenham Hotspur, with Dier featuring in 11 of those.
A move to West Ham would mark a return to the Premier League for Dier after two years away.
The 49-time England international was on the books of Tottenham for 10 years before he joined Bayern Munich in January 2024 on loan, with the move made permanent at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
Dier then moved to French side Monaco at the start of the 2025/26 season on a free transfer.
How has Dier performed at Monaco?
The defender began his Monaco career brightly with eight starts in their first nine fixtures across all competitions.
Such was Dier’s instant impact, he donned the captain’s armband on two occasions.
However, hamstring and calf injuries from October onwards kept Dier sidelined and he only made his return to action in a Coupe de France clash against US Orleans on January 10.
Should Dier join West Ham, he would be jettisoned into the thick of their fight for survival.
The Hammers sit 18th in the Premier League and are seven points adrift from safety.
Nuno’s side have not won a league fixture since November 8, which was a 3-2 victory over fellow cellar dwellers Burnley.

Despite the bleak run of form, West Ham snapped their 10-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory over Championship side Queens Park Rangers in the FA Cup.
Speaking after the win, Nuno conceded he is still ‘trying to rebalance the squad’ and the team ‘still need bodies’, hinting at further activity in the January window to boost their hopes of survival.
Who else has joined West Ham this January?
Should Dier join, he would become the third player to arrive at West Ham in January, with Pablo and Taty Castellanos moving to east London.
Pablo was snapped up for £18.3million from Portuguese side Gil Vicente and became Nuno’s first signing as West Ham coach.
The 21-year-old was signed on the back of netting ten times in 13 Primeira Liga fixtures.
Castellanos joined from Serie A outfit Lazio in a £21m deal on January 5 and made his West Ham debut a day later in a 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest.

The Argentinian didn’t wait long to open his account for the Hammers either as he bagged the winner in their FA Cup win over QPR.
One player who could be making an exit from the Hammers in January is Lucas Paqueta.
The Brazilian is keen to leave to return to his homeland with Flamengo pursuing the playmaker.
West Ham continue their quest for survival with a trip to north London as they face Tottenham on Saturday at 3pm.
