ESPN poach beloved NFL reporter to be new SportsCenter anchor
It didn’t take long for Madelyn Burke to find a new role in sports media.
Burke announced the end of her 10-year stint with the New York Giants on social media on Thursday, hinting that another exciting opportunity was on the cards.

“After 10 seasons of covering the New York Football Giants, it’s time for me to move on. I’ve loved being a part of Big Blue and watching this organization evolve over the last decade,” she wrote on Instagram.
“I’ve built some incredible friendships, made lasting memories, and hope to have left a positive impact on the fan base with our content and coverage over the years.
“I’m excited to announce what’s next. More on that soon. For now, one thing remains true: once a Giant, always a Giant.”
Burke served in a number of roles for the team, hosting multiple shows across the team’s digital platforms as well as the ‘Giants Postgame Live’ show on MSG.
She also served as a sideline reporter for WFAN Giants broadcasts, and now she is taking the next step in her career.
ESPN announced on Monday that Burke will be joining the network as a SportsCenter anchor.
“Some personal news: I’m over the moon to begin this next chapter of my career in my dream job!” Burke posted on Instagram.
“SportsCenter is a show I grew up watching, a cornerstone of ESPN for decades, and I’m so honored to join such an iconic programme.”
In an exclusive interview with the New York Post, Burke would go into further detail as to why the new role means so much to her.
“Particularly, this is kind of a full circle moment because when I was in college, I actually interned for ESPN in Bristol over a summer in the production coordination office there,” Burke told the New York Post.

“I also worked as a runner and a PA for ESPN’s coverage of Super Bowl 42 in Arizona, which was the Giants-Patriots helmet catch.
“I also worked as a runner and a PA for Super Bowl 43 in Tampa, which was the Santonio Holmes to drag game.
“Nearly 20 years later, to be here now joining SportsCenter, I honestly feel a lot more gratitude than anything else to the people and the experiences and the opportunities that have helped me get here.
“It’s also just the full circle moment of remembering being a young PA just cutting her teeth and trying to do whatever it takes to be in and around the industry, and now, I’m about to start my dream job.”
She hosted the college football program Runnin’ With The PAC on FOX Sports after graduating from Arizona State University.
In 2010, she created a television channel for the Los Angeles Clippers that aired online, running until 2014.

The following year, she moved to New York City to work for FanDuel Insider, hosting studio content and co-hosting a fantasy basketball radio show.
