Derby vs West Brom predictions
Derby are around mid-table going into this clash but are on the cusp of the play-off as well, just two points behind 6th placed Preston.
West Brom however, are if anything in a relegation battle especially after four consecutive losses in the league.
Albion are now just three points adrift of the drop zone where Portsmouth and Blackburn sit 21st and 22nd on the same points.
Derby vs West Brom betting tips
Heading
Ryan Mason was sacked as West Brom’s coach just six days into 2026 having been in charge for just seven months.
Albion certainly had higher hopes for themselves this year but it was always going to be tough in the Championship.
The new boss Eric Ramsay has so far seen a 3-2 loss to Middlesbrough and a 5-0 drubbing at home to Norwich.
To make matters worse Norwich are one of the few teams below them which has meant yet another team gaining on them in this relegation run.
Portsmouth have also picked up six points in their last three games making the deficit closer and closer.
Derby have now won three in four in the league after holding on to their 2-1 lead going a man down in the 85th minute after Matthew Clarke was sent off.
There aren’t many games where Derby actually push on and decisively win either, with only a handful of scorelines like 3-0 or 3-1.
And this has a feel of a game that could be quite close in the scores even if Derby are dominant.
West Brom certainly haven’t had that ‘new manager bounce’ yet and it doesn’t look certain it’ll happen away from home on a Friday night either.
Who can make the difference?
Derby’s top scorer this season remains Carlton Morris after he scored an impressive ten goals in just 16 appearances in the league alone, but has been out of action since November with an injury.
The goals haven’t been coming as much as they’d like with their star striker sidelined.
But the likes of Patrick Agyemang has remained a consistent starter with ten goal involvements from 24 appearances.
Ben Brereton Diaz always has a chance of being on the scoresheet and despite not having many goal involvements this season still can be the difference with that pass before the pass.
Bobby Clark stepped up to score against Charlton on Tuesday night so there’s still players cropping up to keep County’s momentum going.
In fact, they’ve had 13 different goal scorers this season in the Championship and that includes five different players with two goals.
